I am new to pin collecting, and I just heard about Hidden Mickey Pins. What are they? And where can I get them?

Hidden Mickey pins are only available by trading with a cast member in a park or Disney store. Each pin has a tiny Mickey head. There have been several series released each year beginning in 2006, sometimes the same series in both WDW and DLR, usually completely different. The UK stores and DLRP also have their own series.

This is an example of a Hidden Mickey pin from this year's WDW Neon Mickey series:

I am pretty sure that some of the WDW 2010 Hidden Mickey pins are now available for sale in packs of four.

There's lots more to the history of these pins, but this is the short version. ;)

Oh ok..thanks for the information. Do you just go up to any cast member and tell them you want to trade a pin with them? Or does it have to be a specific cast member?

Cast members wearing neck lanyards or hip lanyards will trade with you for any official disney pin. Cast members wearing BLACK lanyards trade with anyone. Cast members wearing teal green/green lanyards trade ONLY with children 9 and under. (Age may be wrong, but this is what I was told).

My DD14 was able to trade a few times with CM's when she was still 13 as well. :) The CM would offer the trade and sometimes she took them up, she would say "I'm too old" but the CM's would wave it off. So it's possible that some CM's will bend the rules for your kids too. :)

Thanks for the information. Next time we go, I'll be paying closer attention to the cast members!

Yes..they are not going to ask for ID...
and..some will trade with an adult...
although..these are usually managers....
as...I have had them..offer to trade[when I was trading with another CM]...
and...I mentioned that they were only for kids.....
they said...no problem...
sometimes it happens...usually when they have nothing good on their lanyards:rotfl:

When it happened with DD14 (she was 13) her little sister was trading with a CM, the CM asked C if she wanted anything, C said "well you do have one I need for a set but I'm too old so I have to pass" and the CM said "no worries, which one do you want?" and traded with her. C was not trying to trade with the CM she just walked up with her sister and the CM offered. I've never had a CM with a kids' lanyard offer to trade with me or DBF. :)
