hi fellow disney travellers i am new here and thought i would say hello to you all and introduce myself .... my name is vicki and i have been to disneyland paris twice in the last year both times were spent camping ,so if ya want to know anything about camping just ask i will be more than happty to help and it worked out very cheap too which is handy.
i am married and have 2 young boys who are also in love with disneyland when we went in june we purchased the annual passport which worked out to be a god send and saved us lots of money .well not really sure of what else to say and hope i have introduced my self in the right place and look forward to chatting to you soon .

A workmate has said that he was thinking of taking his family on a camping trip to DLP but as I have only stayed in hotels, I wasn't much help ... I think perhaps they have a motor home, would you know anything about camping this way?

Hi Vicki, thanks for joining us here.

I have wondered about camping myself - do you mean you actually take your own tent and pitch it at a site, or do you go to places where you hire their permanent tent for the week or whatever?

Do you go near DLRP and visit there everyday, or do you stay further afield and just build in a day trip or two to Disney? (ideas starting to form in my mind now..... )

nice meet you too i would be able to help your friend as the camp site we stayed at has bothe tents and campervan/caravans it is the closest capsite to disney and took us about 10 mins to drive there the only thing is as we had the annual pass we did not have to pay for parking which saved us 8 euro a day for a car.......anyway not sure if i am allowed to say what the campsite was called or not but if you email me or something then i will send you the campsite details ,the lady who runs the site is lovely too you book on line with her through an email and thats it no deposit or anything you just pay when you arrive.the site has games room pool and so on and a nice little french supermarket down the road. hope thats of some help.

yes we take our own tent with us it is a very big tent and very roomy like i just said to sinaed we stay at a site about 10 mins away from disney we went for a week in june we arrived on th sunday pitched up with a few drinks to help us he he and on the monday we went and found a supermarket got some bits in then took a drivr to disney to check out how far it was away we then discoverd from the lady who owns the campsite that there is a bakery in the village about a mile away and every morning one of us would drive down and get fresh bread yum yum we then done teus wed at disney thurs we went in to paris and eifle tower and so on and then friday and sat at disney sunday we came home ..... it was that good that me and my sister in law within 2 days of being home emailed the lady at the campsite and booked for the end of september for a week we cashed in tesco vouchers for the ferry did not have to pay for disney because of our passes only the campsite which we had myself and hubby and my 2 boys then hubbys sister and her hubby and 3 grown up sons (told ya my tent was big) we decided to split the camping fee between the 7 adults and leave my 2 little ones out and it cost us all £33 each for a week camping now how cheap is that i took great pride in telling people iwas going to disney for a week for £33 as you can imagine. anyway sorry to whaffle on but it was great fun the kids enjoyed the whole thing too and it was bice to get back to the tent after a busy day and getting your jim jams on sitting outside and haveing a glass of wine ooo cant beat it .

Camping sounds like a great idea for those with children, whose parents are happy to drive, a good way to cut down on the cost too!

Camping can be great fun and an economical means for an adventurous vacation/holiday. Unfortunately, coming from the states, camping for me and my partner when we eventually make it to DLRP may not be the idea situation for us. But in any event, camping can be wonderful if conditions work out for you!

I'm with Pokey on the camping idea, great for those with children, but now that mine aren't little any more I prefer the comfort of a hotel (when there are only two of you travelling, and you don't want to drive, it's probably not the best option anyway )

We go 'camping' in France every year but do it the cheats way where we either stay in a mobile home or tent ready set up for us. We go every Easter to Berny Riviere which is about an hr away from DLP but then prefer to go and stay on site for our Disney fix.
Other people have posted here about staying at Berny as well but others have mentioned somewhere nearer but I cant remember the name of it (Dont think theres a problem about you mentioning the name of where you stay)

You can also park your camper vans in the main car park (and stay there in them) - I know someone on the board did this recently

I would be very interested to know which campsite you stayed at - I'm sure its OK to post on here which one - and what it is like.

We have a tent and all the gear but have only ever camped in England - is it very different in France?
