Hi everybody! I have only been to Universal studios once about two months ago. I had never heard of HHN before, so of course I have to check it out. I will be going 10/24- 10/27. Are all of the houses walk throughs? They don't have any of those stupid ones where you ride through do they? Are the restaurants open all night? If you are going on a thursday, do you recommend fast passes? Do most of you guys go during the day as well?

Welcome Herbiesmomma! :thumbsup2

All of the house are walk throughs...none are rides. Most of the restaurants will be open during HHN. I would always recommend Express Passes since HHN has gained so much popularity over the years.

Ask any other questions you'd like...the Universal homies are at your service!

I am by no means the resident homie on HHN but I can answer that all of the house are walk throughs. I don't know if all of the restaurants are open all night but I know that some of them are like Monster Cafe and Mel's. Last year we hit the parks in the morning, relaxed by the pool in the afternoon and headed back to the US around 3:30-4 PM. Be careful, once you try HHN, you will be hooked! We were virgins last year and now can't wait for this year!

Welcome! So glad you could join us. I am sure that our resident experts will be able to help you with any questions you may have so ask away :)

If there are rides and houses open in the area of a restaurant, chances are it will be open. There will also be beer carts, food cars and various other carts all through the park. I dont recommend Express for hhn, but definately say go with a RIP tour...more houses, rides if you have time and the people who give the tours are awesome. Most of the signature rides are open. We dont go all day, we have AP's and usually hit the parks about 2 or 3, just in time for Stay and Scream.

Thanks! I can't wait to go! It says no costumes, but can you wear a halloween shirt?
Yes...some of the locals have an "unofficial" tradition...we wear an old HHN t-shirt so a halloween shirt is fine. Just no "kiddie" costumes.

i am completely and totally addicted to HHN....

i always wear my chain saw wolf tshirt for the event.
it puts me in the mood.......:rolleyes1

i do the rides in the daytime and stay for the stay and scream area before the start of HHN.
i concentrate on the houses, scarezones and bill and ted show in the evening with the occassional ride of jaws and mummy at night.

you will find that the crowds build toward the end of the month. i always go in the first or second weekend to avoid the sardine issues.

i buy the ep for each night i go. i use it like insurance for the car. i might need it or not but have it just in case. for the last 3 years, i have had to use the ep every night. hhn is growing with popularity. i figure on what i spend to fly, stay at the hotel, tickets, food etc, i might as well get the most out of my evening.

the rip tour i hear is great. i'll be taking that this year.
check out the day tour. i have done them twice now and will repeat it again this year. you get to view 3 houses with the lights on during that tour. well worth it as during the night, you over look many of the details.

what other questions do you have for us?
