hi, my friend recommended this board for planning a trip to disney. we are going in dec and hopefully staying at the boardwalk. Any suggestions of where to eat, what to do with a 10yr old? thanks. kate

Welcome to the Dis Blackbird. When in December are you going? The early part of the month is much less crowded that the weeks around Christmas.
You'll have a great trip either way but recommendations might vary depending on when you are traveling. The BWI is a terrific resort in an ideal location. With respect to dining, there is so much WDW has to offer. Definitely research the restaurants in WS and at the various resorts. If you are going around Christmas time, you will definitely want to take advantage of booking your ADRs early.:earsboy:

the best advise on planning is read read read!
I have learned so much just by reading everything I can on these boards.
don't forget the resort boards and the dining boards as well!
Have a great trip!

I agree with Tinkerbell Tiffany...read and read and read. You will get a lot of info on this board for all things Disney. DH ( :goofy: ) & I have always been to Disney World the week after Thanksgiving into the 1st week of December and it's our favorite time to go, crowd-wise. We're going to "change it up a little" this year, though, and go to MNSSHP instead.

We've had great weather as well - no rain, except for maybe a brief shower, during all of our stays. When we've gone to MVMCP, we've only had to wear sweatshirts or light jackets for the night. But with that said, plan for anything...Orlando weather in December can be very unpredictable!!!

As far as dining goes, check out the dining thread & maybe even check into the Disney Dining Plan (we're trying that for the 1st time this vacation!). There are SO many options out there from character meals, special dinner shows, table & counter service restaurants...you're sure to find something to fit everyone's taste! (Don't forget to check out the resort restaurants as well).

I can't give you much input as to staying at the Boardwalk (we wanted to try it this trip, but they were all booked due to Epcot's F & WF). Based on reviews & the pictures I've seen on this board, you'll have a great time!

Kim

Oh, and ... :welcome: to the DISboards, Kate!!!
