Hi I am new here where do i start

Ok so last night i went to the doctor and well since i went back to school i have stopped exercising, i have no time. Well she reccommeneded(SP?) that i walk for a half hour on my lunch break, and cut calories to 1500. Now i knew what do to but just didnt care. NOW after sleeping on the subject I have decided that I am going to school to be a nurse, I want my kids to be healthy too, and I want to fit into a size that would allow me not to pay extra for the additioanl fabic (youknow when the sign says 9.99 for xl, 12.00 for xxl , and 15.00 for xxl) I want to at least fit into my jeans from last summer, you know just a few months ago!
So you all tell me where to start on this board!

So far I have had half a bagel for brakfast 150 calories, a gosh darn large glass of water, and a can of diced peaches with 80 calories.

WE all come to this road by different paths but the road to being FIT and HEALTHY luckily is the same road out! And you've got all us WISH'ers along the trail with you! Some of us may find a nice bench and sit for awhile, some stroll right through to goal, some might even try to go back to pick others up (well, that may not be their motivation, but they always encourage me!!)

WISH has some things to offer...lots of challenges..some are monthly...some are for 90 days or more...some may just be a weekly exercise challenge...check out starting a journal for yourself...that's a great key. Also don't forget the clippies!!! When you lose 5 pounds get a new clippie...if you join a challenge throw that clippie on as well...anything to mark your successes and goals. You can grab a WISH buddy...someone who has similar goals who will keep checking in on ya and sharing the journey.

I try and cut out processed/fast foods...stick mostly to whole grains/fresh veggies/and up my protein..cheese/beans/fish/chicken/steak...when I look at a meal...I try to make sure I eat my protein first and just sample the breads/high starchy stuff..and pack on the fresh veggies/fruits...they make you not so hungry..a handful of Pringles will leave ya hungrier an hour later than 1/2 an apple.

THE GREAT PART is that YOU ARE HERE!!! And look at today as the LAST day you'll weigh that number! :)

Your fist stop should be to the top of the thread to Sign up for the DIS WISH Challenge then on to “grab” a WISH clippie and insert it in you siggie!

I wanted to stop by and say hello and that we are glad that you have made the decision to join our group. You will find that there are so many inspiring and encouraging people on this board. They are a wealth of information as well, so if you have questions I am sure there will be ones with a similar experience to give you suggestions.
