My family loves Disney. Disney World, Disney Land, Disney Store, Disney Movies. When the kids (now 16 and 20) were little and husband worked for an airline, we would take them to the world and the land an average of 5-6 times a year. We would also fabricate weddings and business trips in Orlando, so my husband and I could do our pilgrimage to the mouse alone.

Fast forward to this morning. Husband has several business trips planned thru out the month of August. None to Orlando. Wants to keep up his twelve year at least once a year trip to Disney streak. What's a good wife to do? I call him, we juggle business trips and poof, he and I are booked for four nights at Royal Plaza Hotel in a King Tower Suite (we don't do EE or late hours anymore at the parks, we do hit PI everynight and are regulars at Adventure's Club and Comedy Club). Kids are happy for us (but I'm sure a bit envious). We are thrilled to have four nights alone in our world.

Will write a trip report when we arrive. Just had to share the excitement!

Sounds wonderful ~ can't wait to read all about it.

Can't believe we're going next week. This coming week is going to be very tough. I am working 50 hours. I am usually a part time person, but my best friend (who we are going to WDW with Labor Day weekend to celebrate her daughters 16th birthday) is in California and I am covering. Then my DH leaves for Chicago on Monday night and is flying home Thursday morning (the day we leave) arrival 10:30 am, departure with me to MCO at 4:45. Then "here we go". It is this trip that is my focal point to get me through, work, daughters cheerleading camp, doctor's appt's, SAT prep, and everyday stuff.

We are both really psyched to be away at our "happy place" without anyone but us! My Dh travels at least two weeks out of the month, and "our time" is very special. We are extremely fortunate to be able to take our yearly four days to "our Place". We understand others don't have that luxury and we appreciate it to no end. It is our FAVORITE place to just be us!

Thanks for sharing. You can clean up your signature area on the bottom, it don't take certain codes anymore.

I'll be going without our kids too next spring.

First and foremost, don't know how to "clean up" my old signature, so if you guys can help, it will be appreciated!

Cast of Characters:
me: 45 yr old Disney addict. Went opening year of WDW
DH: 45 yr old Disney addict. It all started because he used to work for an airline and we flew to Disney for "free" and lets not forget the 50% off "discount" on rooms (of course, then we HAD to stay at a Deluxe resort).

Day of Departure: Thursday. August 10. DH is flying in from Chicago a mere few hours after the terrorist threat in UK. He throws out his liquids and is home in time. We leave for EWR (Newark) in hopes of flying standby on an earlier flight. He has allerted me to pack all toiletries in a separate checked bag (we always fly with carry on, old habits die hard from the airline days). We go thru with no problem. Don't make the 1:00pm flight, but are put on the 2pm (which left at 3:50, still better than our 4:35 flight, which we found out was QUITE delayed) we had heard so many horror stories of people standing in security for 4 hours while all their perfumes and makeup and such we're thrown out (they didin't want to go back downstairs and wait in line again to check their luggage, so all the standby lines were QUITE long) so we surrender our first class upgrades and off we go with 2 seats together in coach on a flight leaving 2.5 hours earlier than our original time. We arrive by 4:45 and are at the Hotel Royal Plaza by 5:45. We had booked a double tower room for 90.00 a night, last minute and I was curious to what we would receive...

Stay tuned ...do we get a nice room???? Do we get to our re-adjusted ADR's at Whispering Canyon? Do our toiletries arrive with us or before or after (remember standby on the highest airport security day since 9/11!) Stay tuned...

Does anyone know how to tell me how to link my days together? Thanks

First,
To clean out your signature, click on your name. You should see a big box in the middle of your screen with all that coding. Just click on it, press CTRL A, it will highlight everything and press delete.

To link your trip report, just stay in your same thread. You can let us know in your heading when you post a new post. Like Page 2, post 11, then 9-16-06
