Hello! My name is Elizabeth (43). I've been visiting WDW since I was 18 months old, but this will be my FIRST SOLO TRIP and...

I am STOKED! No issues with where other people want to (or don't want to) eat / which attraction to see, etc. No one tossing pillows at me when I try to drag them out of bed at 6 am or pooping out before IllumiNations. YES!

I'll be with the Mouse from January 31-February 3. Here are my plans, so far.

I'll be staying at POR in a preferred room. I've stayed here before and loved it. I will have the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan (I think you guys call it DxDDP). Very happy that this will still include apps at TS - yes, this is a foodie trip.

January 31
6 am flight to my happy place
10 am or so: check in at POR
Get to Epcot as soon as possible. Eat something quick.
FP: Living with the Land (I know, I know, you don't really need a FP for this, but it was available)
Mission: Space
Soarin' (NEW FILM - SQUEE!)
5:45 pm ADR at Monsieur Paul
IllumiNations (my very favorite Disney nighttime show)

February 1
8:20 am ADR at Be Our Guest (I need to replace my wife's light up goblet; it broke)
Try for Seven Dwarves as standby right after breakfast (no FP available)
FP: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Haunted Mansion
It's a Small World (again, because it was available)
Dole Whip at some point
3 o'clock parade
4:50 pm ADR at Tiffins / AK (I really hope the Express Bus is still running)
8 pm Wishes (did I mention that I'm planning to use the Express Bus?)

February 2
FP: Star Tours
Toy Story Mania!
12:55 pm ADR at Hollywood Brown Derby (I've been dreaming about the Cobb salad)
7:25 pm ADR at Jiko
10:30 pm back to POR for YEEHA BOB!

February 3
8:15 am ADR at Kona Cafe (paying OOP)
Last call for attractions and shopping at MK
FP: Spaceship Earth
2:35 pm ADR at Le Cellier
FP: Soarin' (I must ride this as often as possible)
8 pm ADR at Spice Road Table and ILLUMINATIONS!

February 4
Sadly wend my way back to MCO

So yes, this will be a food and shopping trip with some rides. I CAN'T WAIT!

I have just over one week until the magic begins. This means, of course, I am already mentally packing, unpacking, repacking, and so on.

A few of the most important items I take to WDW are a good, water-repellent crossbody bag, light rain jacket that will fold up tiny into the crossbody, and at least two good pairs of walking shoes. In this post, I will share photos of my trusty crossbody bag, which I bought a few years ago at Target. IMG_0581.JPGIMG_0579.JPGIMG_0580.JPG

It's light and compact, but big enough to fit the essentials, including the aforementioned jacket, my wallet, my nook, and a glasses case. It also has a bottle holder on each side! While it has a few compartments, there aren't so many that I go crazy when I go through security.

Well, I'm off to read more on the boards and then bed! Have a magical evening.

WOoHOo for you... great nails too! Hope you ll post a full trip report afterwards. Enjoy!!

Sounds great! We will be there the 6th to the 16th of Feb, so save us some food:) Can't wait and it's only 8 days away:)

First solo trip?! I hope/predict you'll love it. I can till remember my first solo trip-it was a gift, a "Mom's weekend" trip for Mother's day from my family. Since then, I've enjoyed 22 years of annual solo "Mental Health" trips, except now I'm the one who poops out before Illuminations. I hope you'll tell us how you like it.

My wife, watching me pack for my solo trip: Are you going to Europe?
Me: I'm also going to Asia and Africa!
