Hi guys, I'm back! :( UNIVERSAL STUDIOS, BACKLOT EXPRESS + WPE 11/10

I thought I'd include reviews of what we ate at Universal, considering I took pics.

We had a snack of nachos and fries at Margaritaville (needed something to soak up those cocktails ).

As you can see, they were absolutely COVERED in toppings! They were great but there was far too much and we ended up leaving most of them. The fries were fine,- just what you'd expect really. What we had was basic but it was decent enough.

Verdict: 7/10

The next day, we ate at Lombard's Seafood Grill in Universal Studios.

Lauren: Lombard's Caesar, $10.99.

Unfortunately, a mistake was made with my order and I was brought a chicken Caesar salad. I didn't realise until I almost put a piece of chicken in my mouth. We told our server and a fresh one (sans chicken!) was brought out. The salad was really nice and fresh but I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have because I was annoyed by the error.

Andrew: Fish and fries, $11.99.

Andrew really liked this- he said it was different to the fish and chips we have over here in the UK but it was no better/worse. It did look fab and I admit I was a little jealous (especially as I had to sit and watch him eat it while I waited for my new salad to arrive ).

Verdict: 6/10 (marked down for the bad service)

Hi Lauren,

Your photo's are making me very hungry we didn't enjoy artist pallet this year we only went there once as we liked Wolfgang puck express much more. With being in Congress Park it was just as easy to walk there.

I ate here on my first trip to WDW in 2008. I remember being impressed at the time so I was keen to go back.

Lauren: Grilled vegetable sandwich with fries, $8.39. Marble cheesecake, $3.59.

Andrew: Chicken nuggets with fries, $7.69. Carrot sticks (unsure of price).

The vegetable sandwich was exactly as I remembered, although the black bean salad that accompanied it back in 2008 had gone. The sandwich was packed with chargrilled veggies and was very tasty, albeit a bit big!

I loved the marble cheesecake! It was nice and creamy without being too rich and sickly.

Andrew enjoyed his chicken nuggets. At this point he was attempting to be "healthy", hence the carrot sticks.

The food at Backlot Express is simple, straightforward and good for a quick bite. We won't be racing back but it's definitely a contender for future lunches!

Verdict: 6/10

We ate at WPE for dinner one night but I don't seem to have any pics. It was a rainy, miserable night and the place was packed with people. We struggled to find a table and our food wasn't particularly good, which probably explains the lack of pics.

Lauren: Macaroni and cheese, $11. Fresh-baked cookie, $2.

I was looking forward to this but I was sorely disappointed. It was a very small portion and it was cold. I wasn't in the mood to send it back so I just ate it. The cookie, on the other hand, was fab! One of the best cookies I've had.

Andrew: Pennette chicken alfredo, $15. Fresh-baked cookie, $2.

Again, the portion was puny and it was cold. Apparently it had 'no taste', so even if it was hot it probably wouldn't have been great (whereas my macaroni and cheese would've been much better had it been hot). Like me, Andrew enjoyed his cookie.

We really weren't impressed with this meal. They were obviously mega-busy, which probably accounts for the poor standard. Next time, we will try dinner again on a quieter night.

Verdict: 5/10 (marked up for the cookies!)

Thanks Linda. I know, we were so surprised that our meal at WPE was so poor. Hopefully it will be better next time!
