Any suggestions that we give you are just that, suggestions. Any changes that you make have to be your decision. We can help you with making them, but you have to try them out for yourself and see if they meet your expectations. Just changing the resolution and font size is relativly easy. If you don't like them that way, just change them back.
However, changing (upgrading) your browser is not such a simple task. You shouldn't attempt it unless you feel confident that you can deal with any problems if they arise. If something was to go wrong with your browser upgrade, you won't be able to get back here to get any help.
