I was at goal this past winter, but went back to eating whatever I wanted without a care in the world. Also, I quit smoking three weeks ago, and while I am *very* proud of my non-smoking self, I'd like to be able to wear my clothes again! :p Right now I have exactly 3 outfits out of my 3 closets full of clothes that fit me. Can't afford, nor do I have any desire, to buy bigger clothes so here I am.

I realize my metabolism will change, that is a given. I smoked when I didn't want to eat. I'm trying to eat healthier though, and I'm considering joining Curves.

Who can tell me about Curves? The lady I spoke with at the Curves near me said that most of the members have lost inches and/or pounds within one month. Has this been your experience? Do you like the workout?

Thanks for any information!

Hey Snoopy ....I'm officially coming back this week....good luck to you...I don't know anything about curves though...

Very proud of you .....that you quite smoking that is....

Wow Snoopy! I'm glad you're back but that is an awful lot to take on in less than a month. You sound VERY determined and it sounds like you are 'ready' to be here though. Congratulations on quitting smoking --- that is a TERRIFIC big step to a healthier you. You will be back on track and pulling those clothing back out of the closet in no time. I've heard that the curves program is VERY GOOD! It seems to focus on eating lower carb foods but is different than Atkins.

Welcome HOME!

This is my third try at replying to this, today. The board issues are driving me crazy.

I'm glad to see you here again, Snoops. I'll remove the red "at goal" that is next to your name on the roster, now, and I'll change your start date to today. Will that be alright?

Welcome back, cutie. We've missed you. Congratulations on giving up cigarettes...that is hard to do, I know from experience.

Thanks guys! :)

Jody, I know I'm nuts to attempt to try and lose weight after just quitting smoking, and truthfully, I'm not positive I can do it. My real hope is that I can at least maintain my weight for the time being, then lose it after my body gets used to the changes that it will certainly undergo since I'm no longer putting nicotine in it. I really have no other choice, as I said, I'm no longer able to wear my clothes!

Kath, that would be fine to change me as today as my start date! Thanks for all that you do with WISH, I know how much work you do to maintain this list.

I am so pleased to return and really get a look around on some of these threads. People have had some amazing success! Its so encouraging for me to read stories of sheer willpower and mind over matter, particularly right now as I'm undergoing so many challenges that I'm trying to overcome myself. I'm so glad I've found my way back here! :)

Welcome back to WISH snoopy! Congratulations on your decision to stop smoking! You are well on your way to a healthier you and I'm sure those pounds will be off again in no time!

Congratulations on quitting smoking, and committing to a better, healthier you!!
I never smoked, so I don't know what you are going through, but I wish you all the best and tons of success!
Great to meet you!:p

You're in fine company, you know that. Congratulations on your quitting smoking. Man, that's such a tough thing to do! I've never smoked, but I remember the Christmas that we kids told Mom all we wanted for Christmas was for her to quit smoking. So she tried. Right in the middle of the holiday season. Not too smart. I also remember watching her literally bang her head against the wall in frustration over the ordeal. Needless to say, we didn't get THAT gift for Christmas that year. She did finally quit, after we all left home for college. And Mom and Dad still celebrate the anniversary of her quit day every year in January. Anyhow, good for you Snoopy!

I'm sure with the support here and a little motivation, you'll be back at goal (and into your closets of clothes) in no time!

Congratulations on stopping smoking!! I have never smoked, so I can't empathise, but I am involved in Health Promotion and I can't tell you the number of people who can't do what your doing. Hang in there, I'm sure that it will get easier.

As far as regaining weight and clothes not fitting, I for one have been there done that. The important thing is how you feel now. You are motivated to do this, you know that you can, because you've done it before and we are all there with you. We want you to succeed.

Sorry I can't help you as far as curves is concerned. I live in the UK and we don't have that here

back Snoop! you know all your WISH friends will be there to get you through, way to go with the non-smoking change! I don't have any input on Curves though, just wanted to say good to see you here again!

Welcome to WISH, Snoopy! :)

Congratulations on becoming an ex-smoker and good luck with your quest to become a more healthy person. Those are two big hurdles to jump at the same time, but if anyone can do it, I know you can. :)

Hi Judi! Welcome back! (You too Zurgswife!)

I don't do Curves but alot of people here do and seem very happy with the results.
Congrats on the quitting smoking..it has been 20 years for me!

Yay Snoopster is back!! :) Snoops I am so happy to see you here again!

Congratulations on kicking the smoking habit, I definitely understand how hard that is and food is more of a comfort then! We are all here to help you out! :)

Hugs!

Welcome back Snoops!!

Congratulations on your decision to quit smoking!!!! I did the quitting smoking thing about 4 1/2 years ago, and joined Curves last week (after a lot of procrastination). I should have signed up when I started my Atkins program- but I didn't. :(

However...... that being water under the bridge- it's easier than I thought. It's cardiovascular and resistance training, and I'm really optimistic that it will work for me. :teeth:

Good luck!!!

HI Snoops!

I just re-joined myself.

The support here is amazing :)

Im so proud of you that you quit smoking! Good for you!!

Hi Judi!!
First of all , I'm so proud that you are at least trying to quit smoking, I know it's hard but it's possible, and if you have the determination, you will kick the habit.
As far as the weight goes, it will come off in time. Stay possitive! {{{{hugs}}}}}}}
