HHN People...

Nothing says "PARTY!" like Disney characters and trick-or-treating. Kidding aside, I do wonder about that poster's age.

That was what I was thinking. Define "party".

If we're talking cute for the kiddies, Disney would have you covered.

If we're talking "par-tay", I would think UO would be the way to go.

Sounds like everyone is on the same page on that thread. For the family, go Disney... for the grownups, go UO. Don't know what the OP was looking for, but everyone else seems to be taking the "not fair to compare" line.

I think they both sound great (havent been to either) depending on the age HHN is great for older kids-adults and MNSSHP is great for younger kids

I've posted my thoughts on the thread:thumbsup2

I don't know why someone always has to compare the two. It is possible to love Universal and Disney equally for the two completely different but wonderful experiences they are. I love going to MNSSHP with my preschool age children. HHN is something I look forward to every year as an adults night out.

Totally agree, I love MNSSHP as its family fun, but I'm looking forward to just me and son doing HHN

Ok, let's compare:

MNSSHP: Family oriented event geared toward children
HHN: Adult oriented event NOT reccomended for children (until about 13+)

MNSSHP: Encouraged to wear costumes
HHN: Not allowed to wear costumes

MNSSHP: Candy and dance parties are the main draw
HHN: Carnage, haunted houses and chainsaws are the main draw

MNSSHP: Park is mostly the same with some decorations and lighting changes and is not much different every year
HHN: Park gets transformed and is quite different every year
