Hey there gang. I'll be headed down to Disney for a few days this year but will start my trip with a one night visit to Universal, namely for HHN, on 11/3. Very excited! Been dying to see what the hoopla's been all about for years. Huge horror fan here so can't believe this is my first.

Anyway, I digress. I'm curious. I saw many comments here on this board about the Stay and Scream area but have no idea what it's all about. I wasn't planning on visiting Universal during the daytime. My friends and I were going to HHN that evening, as early as possible. Is the S&S area strictly for those that had purchased day time tix AND tix for that evening at HHN? I suspect so but thought I'd still ask.

Also, do they have much in terms of horror merchandise for sale?

Just to be sure that I get a chance to check out all the houses I did purchase the express passes as a safety. Gotta see me some Freddie/Jason/Leatherface!

Never been always wanted to go, it looks incredible. From what I've heard I believe it is a totally seperate ticketed event, so you can buy tickets just for that. I think it is more or less seperate from the park (although its in the park) and I think they actually kick everyone out of the park around 5 and then re-open for the HHN. But Damo, Macraven Bubbas Mom and some of the others that have gone will know more than me.

Its in the park, it IS the park. There is no way, that I know of, to do Stay and Scream without going to the park during the day.
They had a ticket last year for about 10 bucks to go to IOA between 4 and 7...no Stay and Scream.

But I was thinking that is was seperately ticketed? Am I wrong about that?:confused3

HHN is a hard ticket event and has nothing to do with admission to the parks during the day...it's completely separate. The only way to do Stay and Scream is to have a valid day ticket and a valid ticket for HHN.

Hey Rick...I'm sure you'll have a blast at HHN...this is my fourth and love it! Anyway...See my comment above about S & S.

As far as merchandise goes...are you talking about HHN stuff or horror stuff in general? The stores have HHN merchandise but I haven't noticed if they have general horror merchandise. After the first weekend, I can let you know what they have. :thumbsup2

You have to purchase a regular park admission for the day and then you can add a Stay and Scream. We are going for our 2nd year on October 21. We get to the park early in the morning and then around 4pm head to Finnegans(it's one of the designated Stay and Scream areas). We throw down some "liquid courage" and wait to be set loose in the parks. Last year we were able to get through 4 houses before needing to use our Express Passes. Then at the end of the night, we went back to the first 4 houses and did them a second time with our Express Passes.
Have fun....you will love it!

What is this $10 ticket you speak of? Does that give you immediate access into HHN, assuming you have a ticket to the event?

I dont know exactly what it was because I didnt use it, but I know it was a way to get into IOA without paying the full price, I dont think you were able to get access to the event until after the event opens.

Thanks, I was just curious. I've got my HHN ticket and express pass, and I intend to get to the park no later than 4:30. I just hope I'll be able to do all 8
houses. Last year I didn't buy an express pass since I was going on a weekday and didn't think they'd be necessary. BIG MISTAKE. I was only able to do 4 houses. So I'm ready this year!!!!

It's a good idea you got the express passes since you're going on a Saturday.I always go weekdays or Sundays and stay at the stay and scream area and hit 2-3 houses as soon as possible since later on the crowds get so big every house has like at least a 45 minute wait not on Fridays or Saturdays.HHN is open 2 hours longer on weekends but lines are definitely longer.Don't forget to leave time for the Bill and Ted's show!

Actually, we're going on Oct. 11 which is a Thursday. But I still think we'll get our money's worth out of the express passes. I'm really looking forward to the Bill and Ted Show.

We're going on 10/06 for the first time ever and also have the Frequent Fear ticket so we can go back at least once again. We haven't got the Express passes. The plan is to do what we can on the first night and then do the rest on the second night, or third.

We've never been before and I'm having a hard time picturing it all. Where are the houses? Are all the rides open too?

So can't wait to go!

Beep....you'd better check your dates...October 6th is on a Saturday and FF Pass does not include Friday or Saturday except for the first weekend.

The houses are in different areas. Some are in old attraction locations, some are in the soundstages and others are in tents. Most of the rides will be open but we'll have to wait and see what ride queues are being used for the houses.
