Ok, I went through about 6 pages looking for the info and while I found some here and there I thought I would ask specifically for my needs :)
I know many of you are HHN veterans so hopefully you can answer my questions.
Our middle child graduates next year and really wants to do HHN but I need to start budgeting for it now. We will only be able to go down for a long weekend...most likely the first weekend in October. Going to try and go on Sunday but may have to do Saturday. We have been twice before and stayed onsite but never for HHN. Looking forward to it!! We will probably fly in if I get cheap tickets...a 14 hour drive isn't worth it for a long weekend to me. We will most likely stay offsite at the Holiday Inn (the closest one...anyone remember which street it's on? I believe there's 2 in close proximity) using points so the hotel will be free. So my questions are... :)
1. We plan on buying the EP for HHN so is it necessary to buy a regular park ticket and do SS or will we be fine with just getting in line early and waiting for the HHN opening? (I realize this is a separate hard ticket event) We are coming back at another time to visit the new HP area....or should we go ahead and buy a one day ticket and be there early.
2. How much have HHN tickets been in the past for the first week in October?
3. How much are the EP's that first week usually?
I think that's really it for now. I'm sure I'll have more later ;)
Thanks!

if you have the day ticket, you can stay in the park when it closes.
you head to a waiting area and are held there until hhn is opened.
you will be able to do 2 houses prior to the official opening to the general public.

if you do not have a park ticket, you wait in the line outside the park gates.
many start to line up by 5:00.
yes, they have a long wait until they are allowed inside.
metal detectors are placed in front and all have to enter them before they can get into the park.
think downtime...

2. How much have HHN tickets been in the past for the first week in October?

saturday hhn tickets are the highest.
sunday tickets are much lower

3. How much are the EP's that first week usually?

first week of hhn will be sept 25.
second week will be in october.
opening weekend has lower crowds than the other weeks of hhn.
saturday ep are costly, sunday is reasonable.
i can look up the numbers i paid later if you need that.
they should be on last years hhn threads

I think that's really it for now. I'm sure I'll have more later ;)
Thanks!
since hhn 2015 begins the last weekend of sept, you would be hitting hhn oct 2/3/4.
in the past years i have bought the pass that allows hhn entrance.
and i do the pass that includes the ep.
Rush of Fear has been offered in the past which included a set number of days for hhn tickets.
one year it was for the first 10 nights, other times, a different amount of evenings were included.

general tickets are based on day of the week.
sun-thur are the cheapest, friday this past hhn was higher and saturday the most expensive ticket.

since you only plan on one or two nights of hhn, the monthly pass would not be beneficial to you.

i bought the monthly with express pass for under $300.
frday/saturdays were not included on the pass i bought.
i used my ap for discounted friday night hhn tickets for about maybe $63w/tax

since one weekend has been cut out of the 2015 hhn dates, i have no idea how the prices will come out.
maybe higher?
maybe the same or equivilant to years past?

since i hit 5 nights of hhn, i do not attend on saturdays anymore.
i can only guess what the ep was this past year on saturdays, thinking it was well over $100.
the cost of ep's were different based on dates.
if attendance was expected to be high, the ep's reflected that in costs.
the ep costs ranged from $59 to over $100 for a one time use per house, ride.

i started to answer in red above in your questions.

Thanks Mac.... I did a bit more web searching and found last years prices on the ** website. That will help with my pricing. We are going to do a Sunday I think :)
