Our party of 7 adults are interested in one day at Universal/IOA during our annual trip to WDW. We will be there Oct 21 through Oct 28. So, if anyone can answer some questions It would be great. Looking at tickets for Universal/IOA can be pricy to include front of the line for only one day.

1. Can we just purchase HHN tickets to get into the 2 parks beginning 6pm or do we also need to buy additional day park tickets?
2. how many hrs does HHN usually last nighty?
3. I am assuming adding front of the line passes would be very beneficial...
4 Can we ride/see most things during HHN plus get "scared" at various areas?

1. park will be closed at 6, just use your hhn tickets to enter.
only need the day park tickets if you want to wait inside the park in the holding area/stay and scream.
you do nothing but wait there.

2. non peak nights, hhn over and park closes at midnight for wed.
thur and sun are non peak nights but they have been extended to a 1:00 am closing on some nights.
Peak nights close at 2:00 am
fri/sat

3. express pass is the way to go.
one time useage for houses, rides.
only allowed for first show of bill and ted.

4. do the houses, scare zones and shows first.
if time is left, do the rides, in the past, only 6 have been opened during hhn.

I second everything stated...and you need the express pass for HHN...lines can be as long as 2 hours, and the pass save most of that

Thanks for the answers.
Now to talk with our party to find out which they want to do, either during day for rides or night for halloween events.

If you could swing it, a 1 day ticket + a HHN add on ticket could be the best. The HHN ticket doesn't need to be used the same day as the 1 day ticket. You could do HHN one night (possibly after your DAK day) with Express Pass. See all the house + what rides you can with express Pass. Then, on your full day at Universal focus on IOA and riding what you didn't get to ride on your HHN night. Last year, general admission to HHN was $95 but you could add on a Sunday - Thurday ticket for $42.00 (Higher prices for Friday and Saturday).

So, an add-on HHN ticket doesn't need to be used same day. great info. If front of the line pass is bought and used for daytime can it also be used for the HHN add-on?

there are only 6 rides opened during hhn.
last year they opened:
simpsons
MIB
RRR
mummy
TF
DE

i would hit the rides in the day time and if you have some free time during hhn, catch a couple of the rides from what will be open while you are there.
