Hi,

I have only recently heard of the special halloween event at Universal and will be in Disney this Oct with my family. We were thinking of checking it out but were wondering if an 18 month old would find it too intense? Is it really that scary? or Is it more of what you make of it by going into the scarier attractions? My family and I would love to go and experience it but I don't want to tramatize my DD either. I'm guessing its very different from Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.....lol......

Any suggestions and opinions are appreciated!

Thanks!

If your toddler wouldn't be afraid of chainsaw revving maniacs chasing you down the street, I'd go for it. If not, I'd stay far, far away.

I think it's great that you and your family want to experience HHN but...an 18 month old child has no business there. HHN is not for children. Until he/she is much, much older stick with MNSSHP.

Thank you! Thank you! for being so honest! I really appreciate it as it will save me from a miserable time and a screaming infant! I am going to tell the rest of my family to go and enjoy themselves while I stay back at Disney with the baby. I wasnt sure if it was something that was as scary as you wanted to make it......so thanks for the warning. Sounds great though.....and hopefully they will continue the tradition in the future and we can go when shes older.

I think you are making a very wise decision. Here's something you might be interested in: rumour has it when Harry Potter opens in 2010, Universal is planning a kid friendly Halloween party at IOA...this is just a rumour at this point. You could enjoy both HHN and the children's party at the same resort. :thumbsup2

You know your baby better than anyone else. With that said, I know tons of people would cringe at the sight of me and my wee TOTer in his stroller, however what they don't know is that he has been involved in the Halloween festivities since a wee age of just a few months. I have friends who host haunted houses for charity purposes and we've been there from behind the seens, to opening night. A scary face or chainsaw only gets a belly laugh from him now andf I AM PROUD! :woohoo: He'll make a great haunter some day!
