Hi,

We're going to HHI 12-17 June. We've rented a 2-bdr villa. My husband and I and our two children, ages 6 and almost 4 and my uncle and aunt will be sharing the 2-bdr unit.

Does anybody have a good location (room number or area of the resort) to recommend to us? Also is there anything that we must do while we're there? Any and all info and tips are appreciated. It's our first visit.

Thanks,

Kathy

Hi Kathy,
We will be there the same time you are too! I'd appreciate the info as well. I can't wait. We have a 7 yo dd. I know Savannah is only 30 miles away and that is such a neat place. We were there about 9 years ago- Savannah- and loved it.

We'll be there that week too - our kids are 10, 9, 6, almost 2 and 9 months. We've been to HH twice and enjoyed both the locations we had. We were in building 26 which overlooked the pool and was right by the community hall, campfire, snack bar, store, etc. The other time we were in building 22 which was near the playground and still close to the pool, but a quieter location. I really enjoyed building 26 (room 2621) since it was closest to the pool and community hall. It was very convenient to run upstairs while everyone else was still at the pool and fix lunch and still be able to see them. The resort is fairly small, so there really isn't a bad location. Have fun!

There are several threads on this subject on this board, with some great information...If you do a search, you should be able to find one or more of them.

Basically, though, the HH resort is small, and all the rooms are in fairly close proximity to everything. If you're closer to the pool, you might be farther away from the front desk and Big Murggie's Den, but nothing is TOO far from anything!

The resort offers many activities for all age groups and the recreation cast is wonderful! There is also a LOT to do on the island -- shopping, sightseeing, the beach, tons of great restaurants...

Try this web site for starters and have fun!

We went for the first time in August, and found that there isn't a bad room in the place. I would not want to be too close to the pool in June, it will be crowded and loud. Since my son is autistic, we enjoyed the pool at the Beach House when it was quiet. It isn't as spread out at HH as it is with some of the other DVC resorts. They have kid's activities every day, you will get an agenda when you check in. They also have things the family can do, like a barbeque (get your tickets ahead of time, it's hot waiting in line at 5pm), a night they let you make s'mores, and fireworks one night. We liked everything about it, except there was no Magic Kingdom a bus ride away. :earboy2:
