We will be at HHI for the first time this Christmas. I have heard that the pools are heated. My question is: am I crazy to even entertain the thought that we can enjoy the pools this time of year?

Thanks in advance.

We have been there for New Years a few times, and every trip there have been people in the pool! Once you get in the water, it's not bad, it's just the getting out that is tough! :scared:

Even this past Thanksgiving, when there were record low temperatures and steam was rising out of the water, there were people in the pool! Far, FAR braver than us!!! :hyper:

They told us that the pools are constantly heated to 82 degrees. Even though the air temperature was in the low to mid-30s at this time, two girls went in the pool right after I took this picture. Brrrr!

Cool picture!

A constant 82 degrees is definately a big plus. I don't think that my girls would dare jump in with 30-something degree temps, but if we are lucky enough to get 60-65 degrees they might try it.

I was curious if the pools were open all year, guess they are. Is there a pool side bar?

We have been xmas week 5 times. Weather can be 60's or 30's. DS did swim in main pool and beach house pool when it was in the 60's but I just observed on the lounge chair! There is no bar at the main pool. The beach house pool area does have a bar, but I'm not sure if it was open during xmas, but I doubt it.

On the upside... there is little to no towel reserving of tables and chairs. :rotfl:
