The two new osprey are almost as large as parents Oprah and Oscar. At least one of the two new birds is a female (I think both may be) and the parents don't spend much time in the nest any more except to deliver carry-out meals.

Both fledglings are now getting the wind beneath their wings frequently and even lifting off for brief moments. To my knowledge, neither one has actually taken flight, but they are getting close to making their parents empty-nesters.

The third egg (unhatched) still remains in the nest.

It has been fun watching these two grow and develop! :)

I have been following too. One is on the edge now...looking ready to fly the coop.

Thanks for sharing!

It looks like the nest is now one bird lighter and only a single fledgling and the unhatched egg remain until a parent returns with lunch!

Last week, there was one fledgling who was very active spreading her winds and catching some air - even lifting completely off the nest.

I suspect it won't be long before Oprah and Oscar are truly empty-nesters!
