Hi, there!

My DH and I are considering going to HHI for Spring Break next year... We've been to HHI in the past and we've stayed at other DVC resorts (BWV and OKW), but we've never done DVC AT HHI...

We're just looking for some overall thoughts and opinions about your experiences there. Do you recommend it? I read one post that said DVC-HHI was noisy and the CM's seemed apathetic... Is this the case?

Any perspectives you could provide would be appreciated!

Thank you, my fellow DVC'ers! :)

I went with my family earlier this year (mid-February) and we were very impressed with the resort. Although the weather was not all that terrific, we had a great time. We are returning for the Labor Day holiday this year.

The resort is small and set on a small island within HHI. It does not have an ocean view as the beach is approximately 1 mile away. If that is important to you, you won't like this resort. However, the beach house is impressive and the beach is first rate. There is also a pool at the beach house so you can alternate between the beach and pool. The pool at the resort is fun and was heated. We were able to jump into the pool even though the temps were in the mid-50's!

Activities are well planned and there should be more than enough for you to do. If you are into the frenetic pace of WDW, it may be too slow for you. For us though, it was enough to convince us to join DVC, and that says a lot. Good luck with your planning.

We went this pst June and had a great time. We can't wait to go back. The CM's were great.....gave the kids (11 and 12 y/o boys) lots of attention and were very curteous to my DH and me.

I love the resort....it is "Disney" with the hidden Mickey's, cleanliness, attention to details.....

We were concerned about staying content for 7 days, and planned some day trips to Savannah and Charleston..but never went. The resort offered so many activities.

We had one of those vacations that was lots of fun, educational, busy, but relaxing at the same time. I think that equals a perfect vacation!!!!

We always plan to got to Savannah and finally last year my parents insisted they really would like to go over and take a tour!!

We also have a few museams we plan to see on "rainy" days and so far we have done great with weather too!

We really like HH, especially the location of the beach house. While we were there last week, there was a tornado warning...Disney CM came down to the beach....DVC members sit mainly in front of beach house and use pools towels......told everyone to go into the garage. They immediately had shuttles to return people to the resort. We opted to stay in garage...as car was parked there and DH was concerned about hail damage.

I like being on the beach and sending DH up to beach house for a fruity drink. One day we went up and sat on the veranda and ate lunch from the snack bar.

We like the location of the resort....we feel we have the best of both worlds.....and often stop at the little Palmetto Dunes store to pick up stuff on way back to room.

We love walking along the cove, exploring shops. We've eaten at two of the restaurants, excellent.

I could go on.......

We spent spring break this year and the past 3 Christmas weeks at HH and absolutely love it. I don't golf, don't play tennis, don't really eat all that much (big restaurant meals) and don't shop til I drop - but look forward to each HH trip. There's so much to do, or you can relax & do nothing it all, while enjoying beautiful lodging.

One trip we encountered many cm's who seemed to be new & in need of training. They were nice, just clueless. On all the other trips the cm's were great AND very competent.

We're headed back in March and December next year!

Thank you so much for your feedback!! HHI sounds great! You've helped my DH and I "make up our minds" on the issue! Now we just have to hope that the we can make the ressies without a problem at the "7 month window". Thanks again!!

We have vacationed on HHI for twenty years, single married and now with three kids. We always stayed in Sea Pines and had no interest in changing...........until we went on our tour of the DVC resort. We were thinking of joining but mostly for WDW. Well, after seeing the resort we joined on the spot and made HH our home resort. We have never looked back since then and are so happy with our decision. We have been to HH twice since joining, and are going to OKW in only 10 days.

Visit HH there is so much for the kids and us parents also!
