HHI in March?

So it was going to be one night at the Grand Californian next year OR a whole week at HHI! Now my momma didn't raise no dummy ... we're checking out HHI! That last week in March (arriving Easter Sunday - a problem?) works exactly with the amount of points we have banked.

My question to all you savvy HHIers is "What's the weather like in March?" and "Will we be bored since we don't have kids?" I realize that it will be much different than a WDW vacation, and we'd really enjoy the kayaking and the fishing excursions, etc. We're not really sit by the pool, do nothing kinda people. Thanks for all your advice!

PS We're banking our 2005 points into 2006, for anyone who's wondering.

We were there this past March. Late March expect low 70's as a high & cool at night (but could be 60-80). It was pool weather one day for us. Can be cool out on the ocean as well. You didn't mention golf which was the focus of our trip. Anyway, my wife did the island tour and trip to Savannah so there's lot's to do but it's not like Orlando.

We have been there 2 times in March. Once was just beautiful with warm weather, once was horrible and rained everyday. It is just like we all know, weather changes daily. It was a great first trip but I don't think we will go again in March. It was not a good trip last time. We only had sun for about 3 hours the whole week. As for adults being bored, we were. We don't golf or play tennis so we wanted sightseeing. There isn't much to see at HH. We did some shopping but mostly watched TV and drove around the area. We were there the week the war in Iraq started so that was on TV every waking hour. We probably will go again when the weather is warmer and we can enjoy the water. Savannah does have some nice places to see and eat but with the weather so bad we didn't even go there. Good luck with you choice. I guess a week at HH is much better than one day, so I would say give it a chance.

Hi DVCTiff,

We'll be there too! Just got the last one BR for Sat 3/26 to Fri 4/1. We do have kids, so my question for the HHI veterans is what the resort does to celebrate Easter, i.e. Easter egg hunts, egg dying, etc? Also does anyone have a suggestion for Easter Brunch or dinner? TIA.

We'll be there too, Sun - Fri. Also our first non-summer trip. Can anyone tell me if there are similar programs like crafts and campfires?

In March, 2003, I was there for spring break, during 3rd week of March. Horrible weather all week - rain, cold. Finally, the day I left it got to 60 degrees. Now, I go to Vero during spring break. I just hope it's still there for my next trip in March, 2005.

Hey StormalongKay and TW1 - Maybe we'll just have to brave the weather together! Maybe I won't even be able to get a reservation. I decided not to call MS today - sounds like they have enough on their hands, but I will let you know if we decide to go.

Thanks everyone for all your advice!
