we will be headed to HHI the last week in September. DH will be looking to play some golf that week (I imagine at least 3 days) and is looking for information on the best places to play. He is by no means an expert golfer. More on the recreational side, so he is not looking for overly difficult or challenging courses. Any thoughts--places he MUST hit and ones he should definitely avoid???

thanks!!!!

A front desk CM at HHI, who golfs a lot, recommended the Arthur Hills course and the Robert Trent Jones Course at Palmetto Dunes, just across the way. DH has played Harbour Town, very expensive but he said he had to do it just once. Shipyard he liked, Indigo Run he didn't. It could have been a bad day at Indigo Run, but there are so many other courses at HH, he'll just try others rather than go back. Someone else here, though, really liked Indigo Run (reinforces that DH may have hit a bad day). There's also one just over the bridge that Matt (the CM) recommended (Hilton Head Country Club?).

There are two courses that are just off of the island (in Blufton) which are much less expensive than the courses on the Island.

Eagles Point and Crescent Point are "sister" courses. Crescent Point is a very pretty course that winds through a gated community. Eagles Point is also nice but doesn't have the character of the other course.

I believe both courses have a web link that shouldn't be too difficult to find.

Have fun!
