HHI airports

Help! As of this morning, there are no flights to Savannah from our airport (or airports within 100 miles of us) with less than 2 stops. So we're looking for other airports within a few hours of Savannah that might be direct from Houston (all flights at airports within 200 miles of here have to change in Houston-we don't want to change again). Ideas? How far are Columbus and Atlanta?

That's a shame..IMO Savannah is such a nice easy airport to navigate and get in/out fast with rental car. What about Charleston...think that is about 2 hours north. GOOD Luck!

Have you checked jacksonville? After savannah that is the closest major airport at around 2 hours.

Atlanta is closer to 5

Charleston is 2 1/2 (airport is on the other side of Charleston so it takes another half hour than usual charleston trips)

Charlotte is about 4

The savannah-hilton head airport is 45 minutes from the resort and a wonderful low traffic airport with easy in easy out. I would recommend the extra stop to get into this airport

Hilton head also has a small regional airport on the island. It connects through charlotte if interested in that. It will be very close to the resort. 5 to 10 min cab ride.

Jacksonville is about 2.5 also. I'd do ATL if you can get a non stop. Also look about Southwest but remember you have to go to their site to do so.

If you don't mind regional jets, United Express has a non-stop from Houston (IAH) to Savannah. (Or is it unavailable for your dates?)

No, we don't mind regional jets-that's all that flies out of airports within about 200 miles of here. And fortunately, United Express did have flights where we just change once, but they're only certain days. So we ended up "having to" stay an extra day at HHI! Oh, darn! And although I'd love to fly into HHI, we'd have to change at least twice, and also change airlines-I think USAir is the only airline they have, and the closest US air flies is San Antonio, 4 hours from us.

Columbia is a little over 2 hours- straight interstate. Charlotte is 4 hours- we live about 20 min from the airport.

Columbia is only 2+ hours? That would make it very much a consideration in the future.

Not sure if you found something. But my friend lives in Houston and has a home on HHI. She flies to Sav all the time. She said there are tons of flights with one stop and usually only one non stop daily. Not sure if that helps!

Unfortunately, if I understand you right, you're saying that she has one stop between Houston and Savannah. If so, that wouldn't help us since Houston IS our stop. One stop between Houston and Savannah means two changes for us. But fortunately, for now, we found a flight with just the Houston change-it was on a different day, meaning we spend more time at HHI. Oh, darn!

Oh sorry ...mis understood you. Thought you were leaving from Houston!!
Before JetBlue flew into Sav airport, we would fly into Jacksonville and drive up. We also flew into Charleston, that was nice!!
Anyway you get there it will be worth it!! Enjoy!
