Is HH as hard to get for spring break as it is for the summertime? I was wondering about the first week of April 2012 in a studio.

I called at exactly 7 months for a 2 bedroom for the week before Easter this year and didn't get it. We are still on the waiting list. We are in the process of buying HHI points to be able to book that vacation for next year for our family.

I was fortunate enough to get spring break at HHI at 7 months both last year and this year, but in a 2 BR. My spring break is the last week of March each year, so this year Easter is not near my break. Last year the resort was completely full when we arrived, so I was a little surprised that I was able to get in at 7 months. I would also tell you that it is probably harder to get a studio, as HHI has more 2 BRs than studios (at least that is what I think I have read on these boards). Good Luck!

we just bought hh points but not enough for spr bk and summer. I can see more points in our future.....

Wow...we have VB points as well, and our family enjoys a BC stay there in the summer. We seem to do that every other year. DS's family hasn't been to HHI yet, but it seems to be a doable car ride for their spring break. We'll see.

PS. Did you buy your HHI direct of resale? Our resale purchase is taking forever (began Oct. 14th) and we don't have the points yet.

We were planning on buying resale but then decided to buy direct from disney because we only needed 60 pts and for that # of pts there wasn't that much difference between direct and resale when you factor in closing costs. Also, we bought at the end of the year so we got 2010 pts thrown in and knew we'd be able to make our Aug reservation before the 7 month window hit.

Had I realized the stress this particular resale was going to cost us, we would be buying direct from Disney now. We did ask that '10 points be banked, so we're getting them, but when..that's the question for us! The points we bought are in 2 contracts, one 117 and the other 25.

Good for you.

Our kids always have Spring Break the first full week of April. This year, it is not around Easter. I called at exactly 9:00am the day our 7-month window opened up and to my utter amazement, I got a 1BR for Su-Th:faint:! I see people are on the waitlist for 2BR's and there is no availability through CRO so I am guessing that the resort is full for that week...and apparently the rest of April too.

I am still in disbelief that we were able to get one of the only 21 1BR's at the 7 month mark for what is apparently a really busy time. We will only be able to travel over school vacations for the next 15+ years (kids are in Kindergarten and 2nd grade) so I just talked DH into an add-on:banana:. I know that we will love it there and want to return, but I don't want to deal with the stress of a waitlist or being shut out completely because we are not owners. We bought 50 points (direct) and we'll use them to go every three years in a 1BR. Eventually, I would like to add on another 25 points so that we can go every other year.

Called right at 7 month window for the week before Easter. Still on the waitlist.:confused3

We finally gave up! We wanted a studio, which there aren't many of. Since our children are grown (we wanted that week since it was the week before Easter and our anniversary), we were flexible enough with our dates to now be coming in on Good Friday and stay the week after Easter. That way we still get the last few days of the Heritage Golf Classic, the Easter Brunch at the Beach House (assuming they do it this year), and our anniversary. But the week before Easter is very hard. When we said to the Front Desk at HHI
when we were there at Thanksgiving, "See you again at Easter!", they said "I hope you already have your reservations-that time's busy!" So I'm glad that we just bought points there.

Sorry, I can't help you with the week before Easter part, but we called right on our 7 month window for the first week of April for this year and I think we got the last 1 BR.

Kristen Rice, we will be there the exact same time with a 2nd grader and a Kindergartener! :woohoo:

This will be our first trip to HHI and our first trip to that part of the country. We are really looking forward to it.
