I am considering adding-onto my current 150 points at BWV. DW and I have visited HH and VB and liked both equally. Since we live in Jersey, we could use HH as "rest stop" on a driving trip to WDW. Would it be a good idea to save some $ with Magical Beginnings and buy 50 points at VB? How easy will it be to trade for HH?

The basic rule is to "buy where you want to stay".

Availability at HH will depend on when you want to to use it. HH is much more of a seasonal resort than BWV. If you want to stay at HH in the June - Sept period, they you should definitely buy there. If you want to stay in mid-January, then you're probably going to be able to get in at the 7 month window easily.

We originally bought at BWV and have added on at both VB and HH. We've found that we like HH best of the three.

IMHO, if you think you'll use HH the most and would want to use it at "peak time" i.e. in summer then buying at HH is going to be the best way to go.

Remember the dues at VB are almost $1 pp higher than HH, that would eat away any "savings" in only a few years.

Interesting. Thank you for sharing. Is it because of the short drive, all the bicycle trails, beach or another reason? I could see many good reasons, just curious what yours are....

just cos i had/have almost the same dilemma (own 240 pts at BWV, want to do a 50 pt add-on):

tho Vero Beach's MB is $15, vs Hilton Head's $10 MB, the higher dues at VB makes it more expensive over the "long run" (about $1300 more). also, from what i could glean from the resale sites, HH does seem to have the higher resale value.

(btw, we had considered VWL or BCV cos we would be using our points at WDW, but their MB's have a 100 pt minimum vs VB & HH 50 pt MB minimum).

as long as you don't go during peak seasons, i.e., only need a 7 month window, HH (currently ;) ) looks like the best overall value.

In my humble opinion, that's a mistake. It's not worth the MB to have your points spread out at off site resorts that you do not intend to use in my humble opinion. Asw an alternative, you could consider renting out the additional points for a couple of years as an alternative to MB. Not quite as much, but I don't know that the hassles down teh line working out reservations would be worth it if you really don't intend to stay there.

We are in the process of doing an add-on. When I called my guide to get the process started, she informed me my options were BCV, VB, or VWL. HH was not an option. I don't know if that is because of my use-year (February) or some other reason. We already own at and love BCV, so we chose to keep all our points in the same place, but I would have seriously considered a HH contract.

Last I heard there were only 2 use years left at HH, April and June I believe.

I know we got something in the mail that said there were only 2 use years left, I could be mistaken about which ones. Besides, there are always straggling points around. Some have even been able to buy OKW and BW add ons within the last year. Did you buy them?
