My DH and I just returned from our first DVC trip ever at HH. We brought both sets of our parents and my 2 younger brothers along with us and stayed in a 2 bdrm. and a studio. The resort is beautiful. We checked in on Sunday the 17th, the studio was ready at 1:30 but the 2 bdrm wasn't available until 4:15. We were very impressed with both rooms. The only minor problem was that the dishes in the 2 bdrm were put back in the cabinets with food still on them. I had to put them all in the dishwasher and run it right away, not a big deal. The master bedroom in the 2 bdrm was beautiful and we really enjoyed the tub! I just wish that I could have locked the door that connected to the bathroom from the tub side to be sure no one could accidently walk in! (No one did by the way!)
While at the resort, we rented bikes. It is a great place to ride around. We also attended a camfire. Oh, don't be late - my DH and I had to sing I'm a little teapot in front of everyone! At least we got smores at the end. The campfire was cute, but it's really for the kids and the young at heart. If you embarress easily you may not enjoy it. We also went to the Tuesday night BBQ, but didn't really think it was worth the money. The food was good and it was a fun thing to do, but they charged $20 a person for hamburgers and hotdogs. My younger brother entered and won the pie eating contest so he had a great time! The fireworks were really nice, we couldn't see them from our balcony (we were in rooms 1613 & 1614) but it was only a short walk to a great view.
We spent one day at the beach. The beach was wonderful. The water was so warm. I would have liked to spend more time at the beach, but there was so many other things to do. We played golf at Eagle's Pointe. It is located on 278 right off of the island. I'm not that good of a player so I couldn't justify paying the prices to play on the island. The course was great though and we had a lot of fun, despite the heat! We also did a dolphin cruise one day. It was really nice, we saw dolphins and a great view of the island itself.
Other activities included shopping, swimming in the pool, more shopping, eating out, going to Harbour Town and relaxing. On Friday after checking out, we went to breakfast and then drove down to Savannah, GA. We took a trolley tour around town. If you get a chance to go there, definitly do. The city is gorgeous! It was a wonderful trip and we can't wait to go back to Hilton Head. If you'd like to check out a picture slide show go to http://www.photoshow.net/redir_ss.php?show=XkBOnAHzc
(It may take a while to load - sorry!) Oh, by the way, thanks to everyone who gave me driving tips, it was a nice ride. Long, but nice. I don't recommend the Motel 6 in Fayetteville, NC though. It was swarming in bugs. We weren't bothered at all by bugs in HH but I got eaten alive IN my motel room in Fayetteville!
