HH- Dolphin Cruise and Kayak Adventure

Looking for reviews/comments about the dolphin cruise and kayak adventure that Disney offers. Wondering if it's worth more to go with them vs. other companies in the area.

We do the dolphin cruise each time we visit HH and it is a nice relaxing cruise. The kayaking was okay but it was mid July when I went and it was not that much fun with the heat.

I'm not rseeb-only done the dolphin cruise once, but yes, I saw plenty of Dolphins on the cruise. But what's much more exciting for me is the times we've seen dolphins around the marsh or in the ocean over at the Beach House. We've seen dolphins at many places-playing around the boats over by the marina, in the waters by the lodge, from the fishing pier at the center of the resort, and from Building 31. Seeing them "in the wild" is especially exciting.

We've seen dolphin "bubble-feeding" at high tide in the inlet behind the Lodge - where a group of 3-4 will splash directing water (and fish) towards the marsh grass and then take turns swimming into the bubbles to grab disoriented fish. We've also seen sea otter in the marsh and the past 3 summers have had manatee in the harbour.

The tours offered thru the resort are fine and there are also other options available in Shelter Cove harbour. The smaller boats offering Dolphin Tours will get you a lot closer, but since there is a permanent-year round 'community' of about 400 Dolphin in the waters around HH, there is no shortage of contact. Many will swim right up to your boat in the marsh. In the summer months the number of dolphin will swell even larger as migrating groups pass thru the area. It's tough not to see them if you are looking. You will also see groups of 4-8 swimming within 50 yards of the beach near the Beach House.

You can't go too wrong looking for a dolphin tour at HH!
