HH Checking In advice

Three good friends and I are going to HH for a long weekend. We'll be checking in on Thursday 3/16. Originally, I had thought we'd spend Weds. night in Atlanta and drive on to HH and be there to check in early on Thursday, but now the plan has changed. We were planning on a day trip to Savannah on Saturday, but have been warned against being there on Fri. or Sat. due to the big parade and St. Pat's party. So now our plan is to drive from Atlanta and do Savannah on Thursday, and then drive on to HH Thursday evening. This means checking in late at HH. Since I really want to impress my friends with a 2BR with a wonderful view - do you think if I called and said we'd be checking in late on Thursday evening, but we'd really like a nice view - that they would honor that. Or just take what we get upon check-in and be happy. I'd really like to WOW my friends because two of them just can't imagine why we joined DVC. I know it's not that big of a deal, but I'm just curious if it would help.

It can't hurt to call ahead and ask. The result will depend more on the occupancy on Thursday though. March is usually a busy time at HH and most checkouts are on Friday morning, There may be little choice with a Thursday arrival since there might be only a few checkouts that day.

They may allow you to move the next day, for a fee for the additional housekeeping.

I'd sure call and ask, but don't be disappointed if there is little to choose from. Regardless, there are no bad views at the resort. I'm sure you'll have a great stay!

Stumbled upon the Savannah St. Patty's party one year back in college coming back up the east coast from spring break, and I gotta say, that was one of the best bashes that I can't remember.

I hear ya. I'm talking 13 years ago. No way I could survive the typical college spring break + Savannah on St. Patty's day today.

Will be at HHI in late May with the family and am looking forward to a more relaxing respite.
