HGVC Sea World or Hilton at Downtown Disney?

So we have a promotional deal to stay at a Hilton property for 3 nights if we attend their timeshare spiel at Parc Soleil -- and we're hoping to go in April.

I'm wondering about which property to choose -- the Hilton at Downtown Disney or the HGVC Sea World? (not interested in other options--and Parc Soleil isn't available) There is a nightly upcharge to stay at the HGVC but with the construction going on at DD (and the fact that we're generally not into shopping), I'm wondering if we should just skip DD even though it will cost a little more. The restaurants look like the only real draw at DD for us.

Interested in different opinions as we have not stayed at either of these properties.

Would particularly appreciate comparisons of the pools at the Hilton and HGVC SW.

Thanks

We have stayed at both and here are my thoughts:

HGVC Sea World:
- Pool is much nicer then the Hilton DD and much larger.
- If you are traveling with kids there are many more activities at the Sea World location.
- Grounds are much larger and make for some nice night time walks and relaxation.
- Rooms from my recollection was slightly larger then the Hilton and more variety. (I could be wrong on sq. feet but they "felt" roomier.
- Farther away from the parks and you have to drive and pay to park

Hilton DD
- Location to Downtown obviously. Just walk across the street and you are at the restaurants/bars etc.
- If you are going to the parks there is a bus from the Hilton to get you there for free. The Hilton also is a participant in extra Magic Hours so it is a benefit.
- You can walk across the street and just grab a bus from Downtown Disney to other Disney hotels to visit easily or take one to the Contemporary and walk into the Magic Kingdom saving parking again.

If you are spending a great amount of time at the pool the Sea World location is a much, much better choice in my opinion. Hope that helps a bit.

Threxix, thanks very much. It does sound like the HGVC may be a better choice for us if the pool is much better.

Do you remember how deep the pools were at the Hilton and at HGVC?

Sorry I do not specifically remember how deep they are. There is also another Hilton GVC closer to Disney that is also very nice. Not sure if its an option.
