Hey you're a college graduate, let's celebrate...an August 2011 PTR!

Hey all!

Sorry I haven't been on in a couple days, I had an interview today, and was extremely nervous about it for some reason, but it went great, so now I've got my fingers crossed :) Working on my next couple postings, they'll be up sooner than later!!

Sending you pixie dust :wizard: for your interview. You will be getting that good news soon:teacher: Interviews make me nervous too! Today I had to go get my CPR certification because I will be starting the RN program next month. I was so nervous when i had to perform all the skills one on one with the instructor, even though I knew all of them:confused3

Can't wait to hear more about your plans!

We got DISNEY MAIL today!!!!! :cool1: I came home after work and checked the mail, and saw it, lol I think I jumped for joy :yay: We are officially 30 days from heading down to Disney via Amtrak!! I'm working on my Disney"advent" calander tonight, so I'll hopefully have pictures up later, I'm looking forward to start pulling those numbers off!!

Here is a small post for the day...A TIP!!:thumbsup2 I'm putting together a "looking forward to most" post, but I have to chat wih my mom first, so that will be next!

The all necessary SHOES!!

I’ve been breaking in my new shoes lately, and I’m so glad! They were giving me blisters the first few times I wore them, but now they are really comfortable! I’m so glad that I read something on here about breaking in shoes before your trip. I know that it seems pretty common sense, but I honestly would have never thought of it!!
IMG_4933.jpg

I’m getting more and more used to the yellow on these, haha, but I really like them. The shoes are like walking on clouds, they are REALLY comfy! My mom’s favorite color is yellow, but she says she can’t stand it on clothing/shoes. I think deep down she’s jealous, lol! I had to choose between the yellow, or teal (but black where these are grey) the black/blue ones were just SO dark, I like the lighter grey of these shoes!!

The moral of this post…BREAK IN YOUR SHOES!!

Hope you get the job! Great tip about shoes. I think we'll be wearing our oldies but goodies! Can't wait to read more!

Your plans sound great! Especially for someone who hasn't been in 14 years, these boards really do help.
And how exciting is Disney mail?! I just love it. :goodvibes
I have flip flops from Rainforest Cafe that are SO comfy and don't need breaking in, but all other shoes I have do need it. I learned that the hard way when I got a pair of Mickey flip-flop crocs and walked all around the parks with them. My mom and I visited every single First Aid in each park to get a supply of band-aids. :lmao:

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Sorry I haven’t posted in a little bit, I went to my aunt’s this weekend for a short little getaway with her and my mom! We went whale watching…so fun! I got so burnt out on the water, I completely forgot that the sun reflects off of the water, um duhhh!! Haha, but we still had a blast! Here are a few pictures of the day.

I’ve been deep sea fishing with my dad, MANY times, and I love it, but I’ve never seen any type of whale that up close. We were really lucky because we were able to see a mommy whale and her baby girl calf swimming around. Too cute! So anyway, that was a neat little getaway to pass the time before our trip, hoping for the time to pass quicker :worship:

Oh, and I almost forgot, I finished my Disney calendar…I made it like a Christmas advent calendar, so the numbers are random, and there is a little message behind all the numbers…that will be a surprise for later! Try and find #1 that will be the best day ever!! Here are the pics!

Whale watching! That seems so fun! When I was at the beach last Thursday, my cousin told me sometimes you can see dolphins. :goodvibes I love sea creatures. I could spend hours in the Seas With Nemo & Friends pavilion.

Our countdown calenders look so similar, I almost had to do a double take. ;) It looks fantastic! I pulled off number 17 a couple hours ago. I'm so excited! :dance3:

Oh my goodness!! 17, that is so exciting :cool1: Thank you so much for the idea of the countdown, I'm looking forward to taking my numbers off!

I'm so jealous about whale watching! I want to do that some day!

Your countdown calendar looks great! We're getting so close now!!!

Thank you!! I am getting so excited, I pulled out our luggage today, and started planning on what to bring on the train, and still think about our flight home!! I really can't wait to hear about you trip as well!!

Wow, it's been awhile since I've been on here, I've been busy watching my nieces and nephews this week, but don't worry, I still have Disney on my mind!! :lovestruc

I got the luggage out today, and got Early Bird Check-in for our SW flight home, I don't want to stress about checking in for our flight at the 24hr mark, so the extra few bucks was worth in to mom and I. I also think that today was one of the first few days that my mom showed excitement over Disney, I think it was seeing the luggage out, and realizing we are getting so close (or maybe its the realization that she has two weeks off of work!!!) :rotfl2:

So, I've been having a hard time thinking of things to post since I've basically wrote out all of our plans, so I have a quick little post about our favorites and what we are looking forward to!

Which ride are you looking forward to most?
Magic Kingdom – It’s a Small World (Mom)
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (Me)
Epcot – Test Track (Mom AND Me – it was being built the last time we were at Disney so we are excited to try it)
Animal Kingdom – The whole park, since we’ve never been! (Mom)
Same as Mom, but wicked looking forward to Expedition Everest (Me)
Hollywood Studios – Tower of Terror (Mom AND Me)

Which 2 (can’t pick just one) TS Restaurant are you looking forward to most?
Mom – Kouzinna by Cat Cora and Teppan Edo
Me – ‘Ohana’s and Hoop De Doo Dinner Show

Favorite Disney Character
Mom – Mickey Mouse
Me - Pluto

Favorite Disney Movie
Mom – Beauty and the Beast
Me – Lady and the Tramp

There you have it!!! Almost at 18 days to go!! :cloud9:

8/14 - Arrival Day - hoping to walk up to Beaches and Cream for and OOP dinner, I’m not too sure how likely that is to happen, but we’ll give it a shot. If not we’ll grab something at POP.
8/15 - Ohana's Dinner 9:25pm - hoping to see MK fireworks
8/16 - Le Cellier Lunch 11:35am
8/16 - Teppen Edo Dinner 8:10pm
8/17 - No TS planned
8/18 - Hoop Dee Doo - 9:30pm Cat. 1
8/19 - Kouzinna Dinner - 7:05pm
8/20 - Chef Mickeys' Dinner - 8:10pm
8/21 - Fantasmic Lunch/Dinner Package Mama Melrose - 2:15pm
8/22 - Coral Reef Dinner - 5:25pm - hoping to see fireworks after

Ohana - Never been but I'll be eating there for the first time on my next trip! I can't wait to hear about it when you get back!
Le Cellier - Same as above!!! ^^^^
Teppan Edo - I ate here for the first time on my last trip in February and it was FANTASTIC! :thumbsup2
Hoop De Doo - Did it but I was too young to remember. I'm sure you'll love it though - it gets such great reviews on here.
Kouzzina - I also ate here on my last trip and it was pretty good. My mom enjoyed her meal more than I did, she totally wiped her plate clean!
Chef Mickey's - Never been but I'm sure it will be great!
Mama Melrose - Also ate her on my last trip and enjoyed it.
Coral Reef - Ate there two years ago and really really liked it a lot

You have some great ADRs lined up!! You're gonna have such a great trip!

Hi again!!

Still hoping some of you can give me any tips on the ADRs I listed. What did you think if you’ve had food there before, etc.! Thanks :thumbsup2

Today I’m writing about my park plans and some of the extras that we are planning on doing during our trip in 34 days!!! Yeah, I’m getting really excited! I picked up some mickey head paint samples, and I’m totally in the process of making a Disney countdown! I can’t wait; I will post that as soon as it’s done :woohoo:

Here are the park plans and extras:
*Please let me know what you think!!

Arrival Day - We’ll be heading to POP and checking in, grabbing our mugs, then checking out our room and settling in. I think that the plan will be to head to DTD to shop and then hop over the Beaches and Cream for and OOP dinner.

Park Day 1 - This will be a MK day! Then we have dinner at Ohana's where we are hoping to see the fireworks at MK, if not we have another day there!

Park Day 2 – Epcot day. We have lunch ressies at Le Cellier 11:35am, so we’ll probably catch some rides in future world, and then head to lunch. After that we’ll tour World Showcase and take it nice and slow before our dinner ressies at Teppen Edo at 8:10pm. We won’t see the fireworks tonight since Teppen Edo is indoor I believe, but again, we’ll be here another day! Looking forward to taking our time in the World showcase and not trying to rush through it this day!

Park Day 3 - Today is an AK day! We’re going to try and make it to rope drop (we aren’t early risers, so we’ll see how that goes) and spend a part of our day here. We have tickets to Cirque du Soleil this night for 9pm, so we’ll probably leave AK around 2 or 3, and head to DTD. The plan is to grab dinner at Cookes of Dublin, and then try to see if we can do Characters in Flight before our show. If that doesn’t happen, we’ll walk around and shop before the show and try to catch a flight another night! I'm so excited for Cirque, I've never been to a show, but my mom has in Vegas...she loved it and said that we HAD to see it!
downtown-disney-area_cirque-du-soleil-la-nouba.jpg

Park Day 4 – This day we are planning on going to Typhoon lagoon for the first half of the day, then going HS for the rest of our day. The last time I was in Disney we went to Blizzard Beach, so I'm looking forward to TL. Mom isn't the biggest fan of water parks, but she'll really enjoy the lazy river and some of the slower raft rides here. We’ll leave HS a little early because we have dinner ressies for the Hoop Dee Doo at 9:30pm Cat. 1. We are really excited for this show, and hope that it is as good as everyone says!

Park Day 5 – Another MK day! We will have had a late night the night before, so we will probably take our time getting up, but who knows! We’ll head to MK for the early afternoon, and take a break to do some mini golfing before our dinner ressies at Kouzinna at 7:05pm. MK had EMH this night until 2am, so we will head back over to MK after dinner for that.
mg1.jpg

Park Day 6 – AK day! Spending the whole day here and then heading back to POP to change up for Chef Mickeys' Dinner at 8:10pm. I am really looking forward to this dinner, I have heard bad reveiws about this since I am an adult (kid on the inside) going with mom, but I don't really want to wait in line to get a pic with a character, so this will work for me!

Park Day 7 - HS day! We’ll spend the day here too since we only had a couple hours the first day due to Typhoon Lagoon. We have Fantasmic Lunch/Dinner Package for Mama Melrose's at 2:15pm. So we’ll enjoy that, then tour the park some more before ending, hopefully, with Fantasmic!

Park Day 8 – Our last park day, Epcot! We’ll spend a good amount of time in future world hitting up the favorite rides, and then in WS to see our favorites. We have an earlier dinner ressie at Coral Reef at 5:25pm. We made this ressie on the earlier side because we are hoping to see the fireworks after.

Departing Day - Our flight is for later in the day, so we’ll check out of POP and store our luggage before heading over to DTD for some last minute shopping!

So there you go, our plans for the trip! Hopefully they go pretty smoothly! I’m not too concerned about sticking to the plans 100% because I really just want to enjoy our time in Disney, so if something doesn’t go as planned, it’s no big deal. We also aren’t going to rush to get to all the best attractions. Our motto is: When we get there, we get there. If fastpasses are available, grab them, if not…no worries! Let’s see how that works out :rolleyes1

Thanks for checking in, feel free to read along, or comment on some of my plans. I would really love to hear from some of the Disers who have been to Disney quite a few times and have valuable tips for me. It’s been so long since I’ve been that this is all really new to me!!

Your daily plans look great! I think it's good that you're flexible though and you're okay with things not going exactly as planned. With that said, I would recommend getting to the parks at rope drop every day you can. Obviously if you're at EMH until 2am the night before that's not going to happen :rotfl: but on the other days if you can make it, do it. When I was there in February it was President's Week and one of the most crowded times of year. Making rope drop really made our days great. We were able to get our "must-dos" done before the parks got crowded and we hardly spent any time on line throughout the whole trip! We waited 40 min for Soarin' once and 30 min for Test Track once. Every other wait was less than 20 min and it made the trip so enjoyable. Of course, this is easier said than done and my mom and I are both morning people so it wasn't really a problem for us. I just wanted to put that out there because you haven't been to WDW in so long, there must be sooo many things you want to see and do!

Have you checked out easywdw.com? The site is amazing :lovestruc and full of really great info.

I also really like your calendar. What a great idea. Maybe I'll make one for my BF to count down our last 15 days. (Who am I kidding? It would really be for me!;))

Thanks for the great tips, I've planned a few rope drop days into the week, but we aren't great at getting up early. I'm hoping I'll be too excited to sleep, lol! It sure has been WAY too long since I've been to Disney, so I am so excited, especially since I've been able to plan it  Thanks for joining in!!

Just a quick post to say that in 5 days I will be on the train heading to Disney!!! And in 6 days I will be there, yay!!

It's getting so close now!!!!! I hope you have an absolutely fantastic trip with your mom! You deserve it! I head for Disney the day before you leave so I won't be able to chat with you to compare notes about POP and everything else until we're back on the 31st! If you start a TR, post the link on here so I can find it!! Once again, have a magical trip!
~Tara:)

Woohoo! You're leaving tomorrow! Have an amazing trip and post a link to your TR when you get back!

Hi all!!!!!

We got back from our trip 5 days ago, and I've neglected the boards until now. Working on getting started on writing about the trip. Not sure when I will get started, but it will get done...I miss it so much, LOL. Keep an eye out for the link!!! Thanks again for all of your help in my planning...I can't wait to do it again!! Trying to convince mom that it needs to be sooner than later :-)

I've been wondering where you were! Be sure to start your TR soon as possible - I can't wait to read. popcorn::
