hey you...the one toodling down the interstate in the LEFT lane...

You're more likely to get pulled over clogging the left lane around here than going 10-15 over the speed limit. One of my coworkers got a ticket on KY4 for going too slow on the way into work. On a 3 lane highway in KY, semis are not allowed in the far left lane. They are pulled over daily.

I have driver over a million miles with no tickets on my record in 20 years, keeping it 5-7 over won't hurt. Get out of the way.

On that note it equally drives me crazy when I'm behind someone in the right or middle lane and someone pulls on to interstate in the acceleration lane and the person I'm behind immediately puts on their brakes. What? Why are YOU braking?! You don't even know how fast they're going to be accelerating to, you have the right of way, and they're in a completely different lane!

We've had a LOT of work on our local interstate in the past few years...construction was a headache, but it IS nice, now that it's done...one of the improvements made was that many of the merge lanes were greatly extended...some up to a mile...with double merge lanes...yet folks feel that they ABSOLUTELY MUST merge as soon as they reach the main traffic lanes...and will run you over trying to merge if you happen to be traveling in the "main" right lane. I will gladly move over if needed for the "mergee", but use a little common sense...you've got a mile of lane ahead of you...use it. Don't panic...you've got plenty of time/room to merge.

completely oblivious to the fact that traffic is stacking up behind you...WHY DO YOU DO IT? Do you not see the people behind you flashing their lights at you to MOVE OVER to the right lane, where you are supposed to drive unless you're passing someone? Do you not wonder why everyone who passes you ON THE RIGHT, gives you a dirty look, or the one-finger salute? Do you not realize the signs along the interstate which read "SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT" applies to you? Do you not realize that you are a rolling one-car traffic jam?

sorry...I feel better now...it's just that I've driven a lot of miles on the interstate in the last few weeks, and I'm astounded at how clueless some of the driving population is in regards to the rules of the road.

I'd be driving along, making good time...traffic flowing nicely...then I'd come up on a clump of traffic...I'd eventually work my way through the clump to find (without fail) some yahoo driving along in the LEFT lane, going ten miles an hour under the speed limit.

SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT

You live in Pensacola? Long time no see! I live in Navarre :thumbsup2

I recall the days when you could drive from Pensacola to Ft Walton Beach...and the only traffic lights were in Gulf Breeze and the entrance to Hurlburt.

Are you a Navarre "old timer"? Can you remember Squirrels Tent City with the orange bouncing balls, or the little zoo across the street with the "gravity house?

Oh, and around here the beltway is like Nascar.. unless it's rush hour, then you're going about 10mph the whole.freaking.trip.

That's what I love about the DC beltway, people are usually frightened enough to just move out of the way. In the Baltimore area they like to piddle along in the left lane. I live sort of near you :goodvibes Howard County drivers are the worst, they all drive like grandmas.

Oh yeah, HoCo drivers stink. My barn is down there, and they all drive about 15 mph below the speed limit. Drives me bonkers!!
