completely oblivious to the fact that traffic is stacking up behind you...WHY DO YOU DO IT? Do you not see the people behind you flashing their lights at you to MOVE OVER to the right lane, where you are supposed to drive unless you're passing someone? Do you not wonder why everyone who passes you ON THE RIGHT, gives you a dirty look, or the one-finger salute? Do you not realize the signs along the interstate which read "SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT" applies to you? Do you not realize that you are a rolling one-car traffic jam?

sorry...I feel better now...it's just that I've driven a lot of miles on the interstate in the last few weeks, and I'm astounded at how clueless some of the driving population is in regards to the rules of the road.

I'd be driving along, making good time...traffic flowing nicely...then I'd come up on a clump of traffic...I'd eventually work my way through the clump to find (without fail) some yahoo driving along in the LEFT lane, going ten miles an hour under the speed limit.

SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT

According to your tag at least, I'm the same age as you. And I keep wondering when I'm going to be old enough that I'm the one doing this instead of the one that it completely drives crazy!! :rotfl: Hasn't happened yet, but I share and understand your frustration. Another similar thing that bothers me (and my husband works for a trucking company) is when one truck has to take 20 minutes passing another truck on a two lane (in one direction) highway because, darn it, he wants to go 1/1000th of a mile faster than that other truck. Meanwhile of course traffic backs up in both lanes for miles. Don't pass, speed up to pass, or wait until there's no traffic to pass! Ugh! :headache:

There is no way in this world that I could possibly agree with you more. That drives me insane when somebody does that.

Hey, marciemi - if you're not doing it now, odds are you're never going to do it. It takes a 'special' kind of person to hog the left lane; age doesn't actually play much of a factor.

Well, thanks - that's a relief! ;) Keep wondering when I'll switch over from being the "beeper" to the "beepee" (sp?!)! :lmao:

It really gets on my nerves when someone does this. And then when there is a break in traffic, and 12 cars pass the slow car in the left lane, in the right lane, they STILL stay in the left lane driving slow. Duh! Do they not notice what's going on?

Where are those flashing lights coming from?:confused3 Oh well, back to Barry...

You know I Can't Smile Without You,
I Can't Smile Without You,
I can't laugh
and I can't sing,
I'm findin' it hard to do anything.
You see, I feel sad when you're sad,
I feel glad when you're glad,
If You only knew what I'm go ing through,
I just Can't Smile Without You.
You came along just like a song
and brightened my day,
Who'd've believe that you were part of a dream
Now it all seems light years away.
And now you know I Can't Smile WIthout You,
I Can't Smile Without You,
I can't laugh and I can't sing,
I'm finding it hard to do anything...:music:

God, this is one of my pet peeves and it drives me insane. If you're not going to go at least 10 miles above the speed limit you have no business in the far left lane. Idiots.

Speed limit - far right lane.
Speed limit + 5 miles - next lane or two middle lanes..
Speed limit + 10 miles - far left lane.

This is one of my BIGGEST pet peeves!!!! And I think those are the same people who don't pull over on hills with a passing lane, hello, did you not see the sign as you came to the hill that said SLOWER TRAFFIC STAY RIGHT??!!! :furious:

Hey wait, are you sure you're not driving I5 from Anaheim to Suisun City yesterday? LOL Because that was our whole drive home.......grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

The left lane is for passing only imo. I use the far left to pass and then scootch back over in the nearest right lane until I need to pass again. People using the left lane to travel very fast and don't do the "pass and tuck" are referred to as "bear bait" around here.;)

Are you my soul mate? I literally go through this same rant everyday to myself. To see someone else so passionate against the left lane riders, it's a beautiful thing.

In Michigan they are either from Ohio or Canada!

Ughhh Ohio drivers. I'm from Ohio and my fellow drivers puzzle me. They get mad at me when I have to slam on my brakes because I was just cruising along until I came up to them going slow and not passing anything while being in the passing lane. On the other hand, they blow my mind when they are flying past me in snow and ice conditions. Then they slam on their brakes when they come across cars in the ditch :confused3

Speed limit + 10 miles - far left lane.

Sadly, that would only be 65 here in IL--nowhere near enough for the left lane. I'll be moving along between 75 and 80 and there will always be some person who insists on zooming up right on my tail and then darting around.

I'm all for slower traffing keeping right, but I think if I'm doing 80 and you want to do 100, it's gonna have to be up to you to figure out how. I'll get over when I'm finished doing what I'm doing, but I'm not altering course so you can hit maximum warp.

And when I finally get alongside them by having to go into the lane that THEY were supposed to be in in the first place, I always wish for an air horn, especially if their windows are down!!!

They probably wouldn't even notice you with an airhorn, they don't notice anything else around them.
