Hey, Would-ja like to go to Florida? You Becha! Done #168! 5-26-09

Saturday, April 18.
Breakfast again.
Not a big breakfast person,
as long as I don’t have to pay $5.00 for a banana
I guess I'm good.

I had a great conversation with a couple from
Sarasota Florida.
She told me to go to the Millennium Mall.
Stimulate the economy of Florida and go shopping.
I’m really hate that word “stimulate”.
Every few years a word or phrase will evolve
Which is way over used.
Y2K
Millennium
“Stimulate the Economy”
“Amazing”

She told me, they have some really great high-end stores.
Um,
“I was just looking for the nearest “outlets”.

It was only 7:30 a.m. and I went back to our room
and tried to hook-up to anyone’s “free wireless”.

Marriott was on the other side of the Spa area.
I totally wanted to check out their “turbo lazy river today.”
The complex had 7 pools and you could use them at
any time.
I looked up Spa prices today too,
$240 was the cheapest package.
$180 to have a consulatation
to style your hair.
I couldn't image what it cost to cut your hair.
This is the Marriott and spa area outside of our balcony.

When we were in Savannah, we parked across the street
From Marriott’s and pulled in their “free wireless.”
The Ritz kept blocking me out, when I tried the connection.
"Savvy oh those Ritz people."
So I logged in for $9.00, for 24 hours.
I needed to checkin at noon with AirTran
for our flight home.
We had our seats already,
I just wanted to make sure they knew we
were coming, so they didn't give our seats away.
The flight was completely full,
since it was the week after Easter.

I logged onto the DIS and went to the Budget Board.
Ya! For the Search function finally working on the DIS.
I found a whole outline explanation of
shopping Outlets in Orlando that some DIS member put together.
I was less than a mile away from Premium Outlets and the
other smaller outlet area that had a better selection of
overstocked WDW merchandise.

I called down today for our rental.
At 9:00 a.m. I closed up the laptop with
directions in my hand and ran into
“the other wife”
in the lobby.
I invited her along.
Last nite was soooooooo important
to shop,
I figured she would be wanting to do
something today, especially shop!!!

I told her, I only planned on being gone an hour or two
And the “outlets” were right down the road.

She declined,
“again”.
But she offered me her GPS system.
They rented with their rental car.
She thought it was hilarious that I got
lost going out of the Ritz complex yesterday.
Ya, real funny.

Alone,
again.

Traffic was non-existence once again today.
Either Sea World and Discovery Cove-(swim with the dolphins)
No one was ever going into either place.
The entrances were right down the road from The Ritz,
I ve been driving by every day
with non-existance back-ups.

The Outlet Store was on Internation Drive,
south of Florida Parkway Drive.
I took a left this time,
instead of a right.
I parked in the North East entrance and found a Croc
store right away.
No bargains, most Crocs were still in the $30-$40 range.
I was looking for the “Off Road” crocs and they only
Had the black.

Found the Fossil store and the wanted $125 for the
same watch I found at Universal Studios store at the City Walk.
They did have tables of watches and I found one for $29.
I failed to see that it wasn’t working. I took it to Battery Plus
hoping it only needed a battery and it did.
The salesman at Battery Plus told me Fossil will sell their watches
cheap without batteries.
I like it, it is silver/gold with a midnite blue inset.
My other one had a red inset.
Big watch “maker- over”, hey!

Tonite was banquet nite, and I only had
one good outfit left.
I wore my dress the previous evening,
because I thought we were going to skip the
Banquet tonite and go over to the Citi-Walk at Universal.
We met with the person that put together the convention at
breakfast, and we both felt, we really couldn’t skip tonite.
I went in a few stores looking at dresses.
I know I walked in the Dress Barn and I
pretty much turned right back out.
I sure hope styles of dresses change soon.
I don’t need to be wearing a tu-tu with
big purple and yellow magnolia’s plastered on the dress.

Oh, and I did find the Disney Store.
Lots of left over Christmas merchandise.
I left that store too, without finding anything.
I gave up, and just decided to leave.
It was sort of scary shopping alone and groups
of young guys were roaming around the stores.
I didn’t feel comfortable anymore, so I found
my area where I parked and just went back for the day.

You were definitely brave to sit out by the pool for 4 hours with the "other wife" and not go into Disney overload discussions! I would have to have tape put on my mouth to keep quiet :lmao: Whenever anyone gets me on the topic of Disney, I don't know when to keep my trap shut!

Shopping at 10 p.m.!!?? What were they thinking could possibly be open besides Wallyworld? Don't get me wrong - I love Walmart prices but not their clothes - they never fit :rotfl2: (well could be my big behindy thing but still....). You were a great sport to hang out with them anyway :thumbsup2

When I got back from shopping,
I was allowed to sit in the lounge next to her,
until her dh came to the pool, at noon today.
Guess what they were going to do for the rest of Sat.

we tried to find the disney outlet store on international drive and couldn't! Where was it?

The one in the Prime Outlet Mall was way in the middle.
They probably did this on purpose, to get everyone to walk
into the middle of the Mall.

The other on, was
off of International Drive
in a little strip mall.
I saw it, but I gave up and
decided I didn't need anything.

hey there !
I've been following along.
Enjoying your report- We seem to be very much on the same wavelength.
I wonder about that other wife.... I don't know if I'd find her attitude more annoying or pitiful? :confused3:bitelip: (yes yes, I know, different strokes for different folks...).

I'm liking "the other wife" less and less.

What a bummer for you!!!!

Too bad you didn't find anything in the Disney Outlet store. I WOULD LOVE TO GO THERE!!!!! Me loves a bargain! ;)

I love a bargain too, but nothing really fancied my interest.

I respect the other's wife decision.
I guess after she goes with her family,
she will realize how "precious" it is to be at WDW.
But, I don't know if their family will get it or not.
I guess I'll find out at the christmas party.

Hey, thanks for reading.
I think I was annoyed and sad while I was there.
I thought I could show someone WDW without being to pretentious and having fun sharing WDW.
Maybe when she goes with her family and goes home, she will understand why I went.

When I returned back to the Ritz,
I realized, I forgot to find an outfit
for the closing evening reception.
I looked in the drawer and saw I still
had white capri’s.
I could re-wear the shirt I wore with my
black capri’s, but I found a black tank top
and I figured I could wear my black sweater again.
Problem solved.

I changed and decided to head over to the spa.
I took my room key, just incase I would get
charged extra for swimming in the lap pool.
They charged an extra $15 for any use of the SPA,
if you don’t call ahead.

While I was walking over there, I heard someone
talking on a phone outside really loud,
Can you take a guess who it was?
I motioned to him, where I was going and
told him to call me at noon.

I was escorted to the lap pool,
And forgot to ask for towels.
At least I wasn’t charged.
Women sitting around, glad no men, lol
drinking green concoctions.

Lap pool:
ry%3D400

The lap pool was freezing.
It took me over 15 minutes to anti-climate myself
to the temperatures, WTH!
Wow, I haven’t swam laps since last summer.
I can do 30 minutes without stopping and I could
barely do 10 minutes.
I scampered back out and dried off on the chair,
Got dressed and went back over to the regular pool.
I really wanted to do the turbo pool at the Marriotts,
but hunger overtook.
So I settled back at the pool.
Found the other wife,
and I was allowed to sit in her saved seat
till her dh came down at noon.

I ordered a sandwich
and another margarita.
I swear I am drinking my calories
on this trip.
I ordered because my dh called at noon
and said he was going to lunch with the guys.
So I figured I had till 2:00 p.m.
and then I was out of there.

So we could go here!
Winter Wonderland Minerature golfing.
ry%3D400

I have such priorities.

I asked a couple behind us to take a picture.
She was taking a picture of "EVERYTHING".
I've been waiting to see if she posted a TR,
but nothing yet!
ry%3D400

My dh wasn't too thrilled with the Christmas
music playing or the theming of the Winter Wonderland Minerature golf.
ry%3D400

I had lots of hole in ones.
I made him take a picture at each one.

When we were done,
we were hot.
Thank goodness most of the golf area
was in shade.
Blizzard Beach was next door, and I wondered
if it was open.
No cars in the parking lot.
I am definately going to get a plus
on my ticket next time I go to WDW.
I love water parks.

We left and tried to find
the town of Celebration.
My navigator skills took us to
the dead end of the Sports Center.
My dh looked at the map, and got back
on I4.
We headed North, and we would of had to turn
around to catch the other exist to go to Celebration.
We we scrapped that idea.
It was around 5:00 p.m. and we needed to be
at the reception by 6:00 p.m.

The highlight of the evening,
was another wedding reception!

Once again, free booze.

I know we packed up that evening,
because we had a free round of golf at
5:00 a.m.
It was the only time we could fit it in,
and our plane departure time was
Our plane was leaving at 1:00 p.m.

The next day, we only did one round,
because we were both hung over and hungry.
I suggested to get our luggage, check out
and eat breakfast over at WDW.
Had to have one last fix.

Should of tried to get into BOMA's,
but we settled for the Pepper Market at Coronado.
Glad I didn't pack away my TUMS.

Since it was my dh birthday the next day,
We tried to get him his "What will you celebrate" ticket
or gift card.
He was registered with the Disney site,
had his documentation,
but, nope,
It has to be on the exact date.

I had 3 more days left on our tickets and
I wanted to upgrade them to a 10 day ticket.
At first, I was told I could.
But the computer said,, "nope".
Have to do all upgrading within the first 14 days of use.
Oh, well.

Flight home was uneventful.
Security and check-in and rental car return
only took 30 minutes.
Waited for our plane and we were home in
Wisconsin by 4:00 p.m.
All our kids were at our house and made a big
supper to celebrate my dh birthday.

So, there ya have it.
All done.

I almost forgot this.

My dh told the other couple we went golfing.
And over to WDW for breakfast.
Remember they had their "own" rental
and didn't want to ride with us.

When I returned from the bathroom,
they snickered and made some sort of comment about
going back to WDW.
Again.

Here is the good part.
When we got finished golfing,
you received 2 golf balls with
Mickey or Stitch.

I reluctantly, pulled the 2 golf balls
out of my baggalini.
I handed them the 2 golf balls
and said,
Oh, here are 2 WDW golf balls."
"Since no stores were open
when we went shopping"
I thought you may like these
next time you golfed."

THE END!

I wouldn't have given them my golf balls! I saw those all around Disney in March and I still regret not buying one for my DH (the golf LOVER!). Of course, I would have liked it much more than he did, but still....

I like you more and more, OhMari! You're too good for your own good...:)

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

the golf ball thing was PRICELESS!!!!!!!

It killed me,
being kind.
But I still have Stich and Mickey golf balls from last November.

I love Winter Summerland! I did find that a lot of the holes seem to funnel your ball right into the hole. :rotfl:

Great trip report, thanks for sharing. :thumbsup2

I'm glad we were able to do both. Winter/Summerland and Fantasia.

So, if you want shade, do winter/summerland
and if you want to do Fantasia, do it at nite, when it is not so hot.
Fantasia also has an adult putting area. It's 18 holes, but no characters, statues, gimmicks etc. Just rolling hills.

Thanks for reading too, and if you still want a blind date.....:rotfl:

You are so funny. Loved the way your TR was laid out in short paragraghs-like a James Patterson novel with its short chapters. Sorry the other lady did not want to go to WDW-wierd if ya ask me. Very nice of you to give them the golf balls. Think I would have gave them napkins to put their drinks on.

I thought I would join in!

I loved the pic of MK you bought at Epcot. I wanted that one as well, but I ended up getting the bigger print of Epcot one as a gift. It's not like I could say I wanted the smaller MK one. :rotfl2: Eventually, I want to have all 4 parks on my wall. :goodvibes

I would love to have them signed by the artist! Priceless. I should look up his website and check out his other stuff.

I have been to Celebration and it is indeed nice. They have fake snow. I wish NJ had fake snow. The sorrounding area is very cute and Mayberry-ish. It is a little difficult to find but it usually has this huge sign pointing the way from...192, I think, along with a big water tower thingy. I only drive by landmarkings. I have a GPS now, so usually I know where to go.

I did the mini-golf as well, but I did the Fantasia Gardens course and I LOVED it!!! I had no idea you get a golf ball at the end, so I was quite surprised. I did end up going at night, so it was cool and nice. I love the Boardwalk area; I wish to stay at that area next time.

That other couple was a bit of a dud; I would definitely take going solo to the parks than hanging out with the wife! I went solo in March and really enjoyed my time.

Thank you for switching my thread from PTR to TR! :goodvibes

LOL, so you are like me and take Disney napkins.:rotfl:

I'm having it framed, and the frame is costing me more than the picture. But I am putting the no smear glass on, so the picture doesn't fade.

I love the Boardwalk area. I've rented twice now from the same DVC member and we stayed at the Boardwalk and the Beach Club. I loved the Beach Club.

Thanks for taking the time and reading my TR. I was just about ready to put it in the completed board. But I still have to print this out for my scrap book. My new printer is skipping lines, so I am trying to figure out what is wrong with it.

You are right it is fast reading

Ok your pic of the goldfish is good

am glad you think kids are great because I think some people would be anoyd of the poor little ones good job in entertaining your self and the kids:thumbsup2

Poor little baby waking up and her mom not being there.

I like all your pics but I specially like the one from the snowman. So glad you didn't have to leave yet and had time to stay a little longer.
