Hey, Would-ja like to go to Florida? You Becha! Done #168! 5-26-09

Still at Epcot on Thursday, April 16, 2009

Pictures of some topiary at the Flower Show;

When I got home, I looked at this picture,
and now I know why, all the pumpkins are gone
from the Green House. I was so disappointed when
I did the Land Ride and all the pumkins were gone.

I’m pretty sure it was around 10:30 a.m. and we decided
to walk over to the Care Center,
which is a short-cut into World Showcase.
I was sure that the Bakery in Norway would be open.
We were starving,
(even though I don’t look like I it, lol).

Tip: If you want to find nice, clean, place to rest
go over to the Care Center next to the Test Track.
The bathrooms are always clean, nice benches to sit
and relax with air-conditioning. On one side is the
bathrooms, on the other side is the child care area.

When I came out of the bathrooms, I noticed my
dh on his phone.
I’m just going to say, :upsidedow.
DH was still “officially” working and I think his
Verizon phone picked up a lot of messages and
e-mails.
WDW is known for lousy coverage areas.
So second tip:
If you need to make a very important call,
walk over to this area too.

We were disappointed to find out the Bakery
in Norway didn’t open till 11:00 a.m.
I remember reading a long time ago, that
Norway and France opened their Bakeries early
in the morning. But with all the cuts WDW is doing,
these 2 must have gotten on the chopping block.

CM’s had the rest of World Showcase Blocked off
till 11:00 a.m.
What to do, what to do, what to do.

We could get in to Akershus Royal Banquet Hall,
but
I just wasn’t up to Breakfast, princesses and bad food.

We backtracked, which I hate doing.
The time went fast looking at all the flowers
and I wanted to see if any artist were opening
up for the day.
I tried to fix this picture,
my dh cut Simba's head off the pic.
ry%3D400

I knew I wanted to buy a print this year.
It was my one regret 2 years ago I made
Not getting a picture from the banner artist at Epcot.

This is the one I picked and went back and purchased
Later in the day.

ry%3D400

Guess who is still reading e-mails
ry%3D400
:

We decided to try our luck in China
we both thought it would be fun to try Teppan Edo
or not!
Find out in next post.

Aww poor Simba. Great update tunning in to find out what happens next. popcorn::

We still had about 15 minutes before World Showcase officially opened.

More pics while we waited.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Bored yet?
ry%3D400

I really don't know what this little cart was,
it is sitting outside of England;
ry%3D400

Anyone see, what I saw?
ry%3D400

I enlarged it. I never knew DTD was that closed to Epcot,
plus my sense of direction stinks, remember?
To me, this is the dumb reason, DTD shut down all
the nite life entertainment: for a hot air ballon ride.

ry%3D400

Just one more picture, before they dropped the rope;
ry%3D400

We trekked on over to China,
climbed the great wall of steps,
too Teppan Edo
"doors locked", OMG!
Went back down the great wall of steps,
and a CM greated me and said,

"we open at 12:30 p.m."

Yea the hot air balloon looks cool, but did they need to close everything fun for it?! Yeesh. And those steps in China are ROUGH!

Seriously, how am I one of them.
I’m a planner, I know secrets,
My kids are convinced I actually work for WDW.
How in the world am I failing to know when
Epcot restaurants are open.

We should have turned around and went
to the Boardwalk and went to the Beach Club.
But, my stomach wasn’t feeling to great and
I didn’t want greasy burgers or fries.
I also should have called WDW Dining
and found out if any resturants had
any openings.
At this point, I was pretty desperate.
My dh looks up every few minutes and
Just mumbles, “whatever, where ever”.
I just had to turn him a few times
in the correct position and he followed me,
like a homing pigeon.

This picture is for my friend.
She has a gold fish pond in her
Salon.

ry%3D400

Her fish are so fat, they float
on the top and pretend they are dead.

He did come up with idea,
he thought the place where the
American Adventure Theatre was,
had to have a great restaurant.
Sure buddy, write a letter or send an email,
Lots of “us” can’t figure that one out either.

Morroco-nope.
Germany-not open till 12:30 either
And don’t even get me started on Brats.
99% pure fat.
Brats, beer and Cheese=Wisconsin.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh,
China-eck, yuck, duck.
By now, I hear my dh screaming into his phone.
I had to back track, again,
and point him to
the smoking section.
Thank goodness, China didn’t eliminate
the little wonder of section for the
“lightenup now or I’m going to, to,to
who knows what at this point.”

I knew this was going to be a long wait.
Japan didn't have those soldier satutues,
it had to be China.
I've seen the China Circle Movie before,
I couldn't figure out how I always miss them.
It's the building way in the back.
My flasch was still off, so sorry for the darkness.
ry%3D400

When I walked out, I saw my dh was still talking, so
I went and got a coke and water and handed them
off and told my dh, to try and talk a tad quieter.

There was a couple who found his conversation
very amusing.
They wanted to know where he worked.
Both said they were realtors and their phones
were ringing insanely too.
So, if you are a DIS member, "I was afraid to ask again",
Hi, and I am really sorry.
And, you really do meet the nicest people in the smoking sections.

The photopass person, was waiting for us.
She gave my dh a ear full for doing work at WDW.
I’m surprised he smiled.

ry%3D400

And, I can’t believe we turned around
and walked into the Lotus Blossom Café.
If you hate C.S. restaurants in the Hollywood Studios,
this place is right up there in the ick factor.

We shared “Vegetables and Rice”.
1/2 got thrown away.

Big surprise,
Another phone call,
It was the other guy from work at the convention,

“Where are you?”
“Meetings are starting.”

Thanks for posting these updates! I am gonna look at it again from home to see the pics. Darn work blocks shutterfly. That stinks!

That's cool the fish play dead. how funny!

Wow, I never realized how close to DTD Epcot was either. I have horrible sense of direction too.

Great pictures too. The photopass one turned out good!

Hello, OhMari. I just wanted to pop in again and let you know that I got to look at all of your pictures finally. Boy, that monorail picture is awesome! And I love the print that you got. How beautiful with the castle and fireworks- I'm so envious I want one now! I'm positively GREEN!

Um, who took a year haitus?

These are my favorite lines. Taken from the OhMari Book of Pithy Sayings.:lovestruc
Since all my kids are adults now, they have some very eye opening conversations. Usually I have to shut them down and say WTMI-Way Too Much Info.

I'm glad you're feeling better! :flower3:

Kathy
It was some kind of flu. I was super dizzy and I probably would of thrown up, but I took my meds that I have.

Aww poor Simba. Great update tunning in to find out what happens next. popcorn::
I posted 2 more and I am going to finish up Epcot~~the Snarky couple episode is coming.

Yea the hot air balloon looks cool, but did they need to close everything fun for it?! Yeesh. And those steps in China are ROUGH!
I do step class, but when I got to the top, I could barely breath. I actually waited outside the door before I tried to pull it open. I didn't want them seeing me grasping for air. And then the darn door was locked.

Thanks for posting these updates! I am gonna look at it again from home to see the pics. Darn work blocks shutterfly. That stinks!

They play dead, so people feed them. Everyone that walks into the salon begs the owner to feed the stupid things.

Wow, I never realized how close to DTD Epcot was either. I have horrible sense of direction too.

Shocker, I surprised my dh smiled.

The artist is Larry Dotson. In the morning when I was looking at the paintings, the sales people told me to come back later in the afternoon, because he would be there and he would personally sign the picture on the print. He signed on the frame, but then he wrote Dotson real small on the bottom of the picture. I told him how upset I was, that I didn't buy a picture 2 years ago, and that was my main goal today, to buy it.

A lot of his paintings are in the resorts hanging next to the beds.
I also have another one of his paintings,
The Waving Lady, from Savannah GA.
Maybe some day, he will be our very own Picasso and my paintings will be worth a lot of money.

That is VERY cool! I'll have to pay more attention to the paintings in the resorts next time I go and see if any of them are his. And who knows? Maybe I can talk DH into buying me a print also.

After the phone call, my dh determined he
really didn’t need to be at the Convention
so early. He was checked in, and a vendor-speaker
needed to do his presentation early, so they scheduled
a early session. The session didn’t pertain to my dh
job, so he was fine not returning back to the convention.

Since we were in the Enchanted land of China,
we just slowly made our way back to the entrance
of Epcot. My dh was sort of hesitated, because he
was uncomfortable with leaving me at Epcot alone.
Ahhhh.
I told him I could lounge around a swimming pool
anytime,
it is not often that you can spend at day at WDW.
So, he determined he would be done with sessions today at 7:00 p.m.
And he would return for the evening.
I was sad to see him go,
But antsy as heck,
because I only had 15 minutes left on my Fast Passes
to do Soarin, :rotfl:

I told the CM I had 2 Fast Passes.
I wanted to give one away, and neither one
of us could find “anyone” to give it too.
She told me to go ahead and ride and if
she don’t find someone, I could go right back on.
Yep, I rode Soarin twice in 20 minutes.
Standby was 140 minutes, but I talked to
some kids and they told me it was less than an hour.
Leave it to 12 year olds, to know!

Kids are great to talk to in lines.
I usually don’t start conversations with
kids when I am alone.
But if they are out in front of the family and
their brothers and sisters and behind the mom
and dad, you know the parents have separated
everyone, from beating on each other.

Anyhow, a brother and sister were ahead of
their group, and the brother sort of pushed
his sister into me. She apologized and so did
the brother. They were not being mean to each
other, they were just goofing around. They both
had Space Camp buttons on, and they started
telling “me” all about Space Camp.
I got the eye from the grandma and mom,
but I smiled, they smiled, and they probably
determined I was okay,
and relieved,
that they had a “listener”.
My dh is right, kids at this age are great.

I just love reading your report - I sit here at work pretending to work and I've got this huge grin on my face :rotfl2:

This especially had me rolling: "I was sad to see him go, But antsy as heck,
because I only had 15 minutes left on my Fast Passes to do Soarin :rotfl:" Did he even know you had a FS burning a hole in your pocket?

I don't know if he sells his work, but I'm sure he does. I just thought the only time I could buy his work, was during the Garden and Flower Festival. Let me know if you can, when you go.

Na, he had so much on his mind, dealing with a really bad work situation. We were mostly talking about what he should do, (work related). He does all the talking and I'm there to listen, so I didn't want to interupt. Sometimes he deals with too much.

Now for the rest of my Epcot day.
There will be absolutely no backtracking.
Be circle loops will be the course
of the rest of the day.

I wanted to buy t-shirts in the Aquarium,
but I didn’t want to carry a bagall day.
So I decided to buy them also on my way out.

Space Ship Earth.
I mostly played with my camera
Because I wanted those crazy shots in the end.
Not so good.

Ellen’s Universe of Energy.
I know my phone rang.
My phone never rings.
I saw it was my dad, but I turned it off
and decided to call him after the ride.
I should have know, when the announcer said:
"The movie portion is 15 minutes"
"The ride is 20 minutes"
"Something else is 10 minutes,"
"the ride is a total of 45 minutes."

The ride reminded me of trying to stay awake
for the Weather during the 10:00 o’clock news.
For some odd reason, I only remember
walking out of the place and wondering how
I missed the whole darn thing.

I walked on by Mission to Mars
I figured I don’t need to get dizzy and confused
anymore than I already am.
I rode the Orange side in Nov. and I had no need to feel
confined with stranges.

Test Track had a wait time,
but used the Single Riders Line
and was on in 10 minutes.

I so wanted to see the Test Crash Dummies,
but they must have gotten the ax too.

We sold our big Chevy Diesel truck
2 months ago, and we still don’t have
our “own” vehicle yet.
My son parked his Lexus in our Trailer for the
winter.
My other son Matt took the car out of the trailer,
because race season started.
So David felt sorry for me and insured his car again,
and said I could drive it and to please make the
car payment.:rotfl:

I want one of these, but they are so expensive.
$52,000 for a hybrid Tahoo.
Sure you get a tax break this year,
but Chevy gets it in their pocked, not me the consumer.
No wonder these guys are going breakrupt.
ry%3D400

I told my dh, this would be fun too.
But not so much fun in the winter, we would have to
Store it, in our garage with no room.
Matt called me on Saturday and he told me how excited he was, because
he saw a car hauler with Chevy Camaro's.
I one upped him,
and told him, I saw one first
and had a picture to prove it.
Huh!
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Up next,
World Showcase!

Mari anytime you want to borrow kids let me know we'll meet you half way in Madison. LOL Especially now that DD is a "tween".

Chuck must have taken about 20 pics of that new Camaro. He wants one really bad.

Care Center-bathroom Break

Mexico-
El Tempo Di Rio-
Sure it still means:
It’s a Small World.
The movie sreens of Donald are a slight improvement.

Norway-
Bakery is finally open.
I had a Chocolate Mousse delite
and soda bread.
Soda bread was dry and I
remembered I threw it away.
Oh ya, I asked for Ice Water and I expected
a water bottle, and I got a huge glass of
ice water.
Should of ordered milk.
Milk and chocolate dessert-Ymm.

The only downside to enjoying the dessert,
a little girl around 4 -5 years old had a complete
Melt down.
She was with her grandparents,
And it was obvious, the grandparents don’t
Have much to do with the granddaughter.
I swear, she woke up from a nap,
And decided
“She Wanted her Mama”

She did not stop screaming for 20 minutes.
2 CM’s
1 random guy, that looked like another Grandfather
And a telephone call to her mom, did not stop her
from screaming.
The grandparents just stood and watched her.
The grandmother tried, but she just kept it up.

I finally left and she was still saying it,
I Want my Mama.

Forgot to take food porn,
But did get the grass roof.
I sat underneath,
and you can see the grandpa
way in the back with the white safari hat on.
ry%3D400

My mission was to take random photo’s,
You have to look over the side by Italy.

ry%3D400

Mail Box in Great Britain.
ry%3D400

I forgot I rode
The Land ride after Soarin.
They grown there own Sturgeon at WDW.
Don't ever order Sturgeon in a resturant at WDW,
these fish eat everything off the bottom and they
taste horrible.
Sturgeon are only native in Lake Winnebago, by Fond du Lac, WI
another lake in upstate NY and in Germany.
They are pre-historic fish.
I have no idea why people like to Spear these things.
They taste horrible, but I think people do it,
because they can.
ry%3D400

I already mentioned how
disappointed I was, that the pumkins
were all missing during the ride.
The ride is not the same either without
a CM telling you the guided story.
For shame WDW, for eliminated another job.

Sorry, for hardly any pictures,
I know I spent the rest of the afternoon in World Showcase.

Up next
Off Kilter
and The British Invasion.

Mari anytime you want to borrow kids let me know we'll meet you half way in Madison. LOL Especially now that DD is a "tween".

Chuck must have taken about 20 pics of that new Camaro. He wants one really bad.

Sure, I'm ready to be a surrogate grandparent.

My dh loves the "color".
He tried to convince me to get a Pontiac G8 in that color.

Before Off Kilter played at 3:30
I wanted to walk down to the BoardWalk.
I thought I would surprise my dh with supper
at Spoodles, which was suppose to be
Cat Cor’s new restaurant. Sorry, I forget the name of the resturant.
My dh is a Food Channel Junky.

I also planned on taking the other wife
on the Ferry that travels around the Boardwalk
and show her the Boardwalk Resorts.
Heck, I was even going to take her to Fantasia
For some miniature golfing
I had some left over free tickets.

Me, the planner failed to see
Spoodles and Car Cora will not
be doing the change over till late summer.
Grr.

I took a siesta for 10 minutes and went
back into the International Gateway.
I decided to get in line at the Bakery in France.
See what you can do, when you are solo?
No one questions why you are getting in line
for more dessert.
But I just wish the guy behind me knew
what personal space is.
Seriously, I did not need to hear
every sinus sniff, I even tried
to dodge the person, by going left in the
line and jumping over to the right side again.
He followed me like my dh did,
a homing pigeon.
This was my longest wait of the day.
Desserts, and
more desserts, and people, just don’t know what to choose.

I actually grabbed a ham sandwich,
paid and packaged it up to eat during
The British Invasion.

British Invasion played at 4:00 p.m.
This was Thursday, after Easter, and
they didn’t have on their Easter colored suits.
Someone posted a picture in April with those funny colored suits on.
I’m betting they were glad to have them anymore.
ry%3D400

After the British Invasion, I walked over to
Off Kilter.
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

The Main singer is missing.
The guy with the bag pipe, on this picture. This picture is from April 07.
9199disney008.jpg

I noticed someone’s picture in January and
He wasn’t playing then either.
Did he quit?

After Off Kilter,
I did the Canada movie again,
Then went into The British Invasion.

I finally finished my sandwich and it was around 6:00 p.m.
My dh calls and asks if I want to be picked up early.
He said we were invited to a special reception this evening.
It starts at 7:00 p.m.
I could either stay at Epcot or he will come and get me.
