Hi. I'll be going to CR MK view in one week, and I was wondering about all the construction. I know they aren't going to be banging away during the night, but I have two little DD who will be taking naps during the day (hence the nice view for Mom stuck in the room!)
It seems like a lot of the construction is in the tower, where we'll be staying. Has anyone noticed it as being loud or intrusive?
Oh, and does anyone know when the Tempo is going to open? I keep hearing different things.
Anyway, thanks for your help. I can't wait to go, and I'm glad for these boards- it's the closest I can get to WDW without being there!

My family and I stayed at the Contemporary a few weeks ago, so here is what was happening inside when it came to renovation. Part of the check-in desk has been blocked off, since it's being worked on and because of that the lobby Concierge desk got moved to where the Contemporary Grounds Coffee shop use to be. That renovation was taking place late at night which was after 11:00 PM. Besides that in the middle of the 4th floor between the Bay View Gifts store, Sundries store and the arcade, they are in the begining stages of building the new Fantasia store and during the afternoon my family and I heard banging from our room and we were all the way up on the 12th floor. Finally the temporary counter service location was in the process of being built and I found out from a manger in the Food & Fun Center that is is set to open on September 9th. So until that day the Food & Fun Center will be open.

Besides that the major renovation happening outside where the North Garden Wing building use to be has no effect on any guests staying in the Tower or South Garden Wing.

Thank you so much for the info. This will be the first time in my life I can afford something other than an All Star, as well as the first time going with husband and kids, so I am both excited and nervous for the same reason- because I have no idea what it's going to be like!
I hope the noise isn't too bad- week without the girls having naps is enough to make me shudder.
My brother will be coming with us and when I told him these concerns he did bring up a good point that if it really is that bad for me, he has a hard time imagining that Disney will refuse to help us move or whatever. Looking up rooms online, there is not a single resort sold out while we're there.
But I hope CR is just fine. My heart is set on waking up and seeing Cindy's house out my window!
Thanks again for your help.

Allearsnet has some recent pics of the construction at the CR. Here's the link: http://www.allearsnet.com/blogs/allearsteam/2007/08/contemporary_resort_constructi_1.html

Thank you so much! I read it and the last line "I ate lunch at the Concourse Steakhouse. As always, the service and the food were top-notch. However, the noise from the jack hammers breaking up the tile floors was more than a bit disturbing. Guests might want to think twice before eating lunch here for the next couple of weeks." made me slightly nervous. At this point I leave in three days, so I will just have to wait and see.
But let me tell you, if it is too noisy, wheher it be changing resorts, buying earplugs, just sucking it up, whatever, we'll deal. I used to go to Disney yearly until I started getting deployed, and I'm letting nothing ruin this first trip in four years. Just breathing Disney air and drinking the nasty Orlando water will make me happy, because it will mean I'm there!:cutie:
