Statement as of 10:35 PM EST on November 18, 2008

... Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect until 9 am EST
Wednesday...

A Continental polar airmass is overspreading central Florida. Much
below normal temperatures are expected overnight with lows
dropping into the 30s across northern and interior sections. North
winds of 10 to 15 mph will make it feel even colder. The coldest
wind chill values are expected to occur early Wednesday morning...
ranging from the mid 20s north and west of Orlando to the lower
and mid 30s elsewhere inland from the coast. Wind chill values
along the immediate coast south of the cape should remain in the
lower 40s.

A Wind Chill Advisory is issued for east central Florida when wind
speeds are at least 10 mph and wind chills are below 35 degrees.
If you will be venturing outdoors overnight or early Wednesday
morning... dress in layers to insulate your body and wear a hat. Be
sure to keep all combustible material away from space heaters...
such as pillows... blankets and curtains... to prevent fire.

YOUR freezing?? I woke up to 23 degrees with a windchill of 11 degrees!!
YUCK!

They are telling parents to bundle up their kids at the bus stop. The best thing about the cold weather in Orlando is that it doesn't last long. :) :)

I don't think Walter told me about the cold in Orlando. Stella was scrambling this morning for warm clothes. I love it!!!!:cool1:

19 degrees this morning. And its only going to get colder. I'll take a chilly morning in Orlando any day.

It's getting close to the temperature that makes Florida's irrigation systems freeze and crack, thus creating some very beautiful front-lawn ice sculptures. Not there yet....but close.

Yup, don't worry. A heat wave will be arriving 11/30 (me). Heat and humidity follow me everywhere I go. :sad2:

Teresa, it must feel like you are back in Georgia! brrrrrr! In the northeast we are getting 20's/30's through the weekend.

Yeah, I think I'm the only one who is actually warmer than Orlando. Right now, it is 50 degrees. We're in the dead of winter now, folks!

as a transplanted New Englander I have to say it isn't as bad as what we used to get from November to May or so, but it is kinda cold, especially at 7:30 a.m..

I think once you live here and have to live thru the awful hot/humid summers, anything under 65 degrees starts to feel REALLY COLD.

Funny how they only tell you the good stuff :lmao:

I'm sure it's nice to have a chilly day now and then - I know the citrus growers don't like when it gets really cold though.

Hope you brought some comfy fleeces with you.
