Hey New York City (and other environs) DIS'ers! Let's meet!

I just read the menus (food and drinks) for The Garage......I should have worn a bib. Hey Padalyn....Who's turn to be DD? Never mind, I'll suffer on the bus for a night. Anyone know the best subway route from PA (port authority not the State.)? I'm subway illiterate...how they heck did I manage to work all over NY is beyond me.

WAY easy. You take the A, C, or E train to West 4th Street. YOu'll be about two or three quick blocks away.

I wanna go, too. I need some new friends.

Okay.. I have been totally missing in action.. I just moved... and am directing a production of Oliver! But guess what.. I CAN come to the meet!! Whooooo Hooo... And I LOVE the Garage! Great food/drinks/ambiance.... How fun!!! Yippeeeee!!!

I can't wait.. an adult evening out...

Kathy

Mary Poppins is on my list, but first I need to see Wicked. It's a shame - we have broadway in our back yard and we don't get to see as much as we want to. Chris has orders to get me to see Wicked by my birthday :rotfl:

Wicked is incredible! I brought my DD(15) to see it for her birthday last fall!

OK I'm new and don't really know any of you but I live in Baltimore and it's a short trip to new york so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE message me and become my friend really really quick so I can go and stop being anti-social :rolleyes1

I've also been MIA, sorry! Chris and I are now daddy's to a new puppy. It's been a whirwind month!

Unfortunately this is my Birthday weekend and we'll be opening our shore house this weekend. We will be at the Borgato though thinking of you all!!!!

I would love to come to something like this but I am pretty shy. I don't write much on these boards so I don't know any of you. Although on the other hand I feel like I do know almost all of you because I read all the posts daily. Just look at how long ago I joined the boards compared to how little I write :)

My partner and I are in Upstate NY. If the meet is open to anyone, maybe I'll venture down if I can get up the nerve. I'm sure it will be a lot of fun. Being shy SUCKS! KT

Hey Kentear - I assure you that these kind folks will make you feel at home and comfy. there's a great group here. If you get the chance - venture into NYC next weekend.

It appears that I have been sadly remiss in following up about my suggestion re: possibly meeting in NYC for a little DIS board meet & greet (with a couple of cocktails thrown in of course). I had, and still do, suggest that we meet at:

Where: The Garage – 99 Seventh Avenue South in Greenwich Village, Manhattan
For more information about this particular venue, here’s a link to their website: www.garagerest.com
Time: 7pm
Date: Saturday, April 14

If you would still like to meet over a martini, please let me know so that I can have a general idea of who to expect.

If you can’t make it, if you could also please let me know, it’d be appreciated.

Just send me a PM!

Hope to see you there!

Rick, thanks for the PM. I'm in. I had a chat with my liver. I said, "Mr. Liver, I know that I horribly abuse you with beer, but if you pledge to support me for Rick's party on Saturday, I will eat organic stuff all week to try and reduce your body purification responsibility."

He said OK. So we will be there.

maybe I should have done this for Gerdie (G.E.R.D sufferer)this week and she'll let me enjoy all the Dole WHips next week ...

I hope there will be a next time !!!

HAHAHA!! Caradana that was funny I laughed for five minutes.......:rotfl2:

Love it!!!:thumbsup2 Of course, I'm sitting here drinking loads of wine and watching the Sabres (beat the NY Islanders). My liver will have to recover by Saturday because I'm going to the game.

I hope you all have a great time. If I wasn't so hammered at work I would hop on a plane to meet you ... especially since airfares between Buffalo and NYC are so cheap. Next time you meet move it about 6 hours to the east and I'll be there.

I am peeved that this shower I was at @ Philly ran so far overtime that I couldn't justify the drive to the city ... Rick it was great talking to you -- me and Mr. Liver want to get together before you go to Japan. :)

SkyMedik - thanks!

Rick - thanks again for organizing this - we had a great time - it was so much fun to just sit and talk, talk, talk (we "disers" are good at that I am finding!!)

To those who missed it - you have to make it next time...we all had a blast!:thumbsup2
