Hey New York City (and other environs) DIS'ers! Let's meet!

Currently the 14th should work for us.

I'll be in NYC May 5 and 6. Not April, it costs too much for me to stay up there.

I want a beer at Chumleys.

Please go right ahead and schedule the event for that date because I have quite a few dates this spring that wouldn't work. Unfortunately (for us) that date doesn't work because my DP will off doing her yearly training event for the animal rescue organization that she volunteers for.

Mary Poppins is on my list, but first I need to see Wicked. It's a shame - we have broadway in our back yard and we don't get to see as much as we want to. Chris has orders to get me to see Wicked by my birthday :rotfl:

Go see Wicked - it is AWESOME!!!

Ok, this is probably a stupid question, especially since I've seen zurgswife on here (who I'm assuming is not gay...there I go assuming), but is this only a gay-DIS meet? I'm guessing no, but don't want to be rude and assume. :rolleyes1 B/c if not, I'd love to meet up with some fellow DISers, especially if booze is involved. ;)

I'm hoping it's not a gay only meet because if we are free I did invite myself to join....LOL

Ok, so how is April 14 for everyone? Let's do this!

And HECK NO is it a gay only meet. It's a DIS meet in which I simply posted on the G/L board, that's all. EVERYONE OF ALL WALKS OF LIFE ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE.

I know a great place in the Village that has good martinis and other drinks. It's called The Garage. They play live jazz later in the evening too! How about 7pm? Or earlier. Added benefit is that it's spitting distance from the Duplex that is a gay/straight cabaret. That joint is a hoot! Plus, there's tons of places in the vicinity to grab a bite before hand for those inclined to eat before alcohol consumption.

WOOHOO!!! :cool1: I'm an "EVERYONE OF ALL WALKS OF LIFE"! (Pictures of John Clese doing his funny walk in Monty Python are running through my head right now).

However, stupid me should have read through all the posts first. The weekends are bad for me. I'm usually back home with the fam then in Jersey (Bridge and Tunnel person here). Since I work in the city, it is easier for me to hangout a bit later during the week. But I know that makes it more difficult for those coming up from Philly and other places.

Therefore, you guys have a great meet and if any NYCers feel like grabbing a beer or something during the week sometime, give me a shout! :thumbsup2

LONG LIVE THE DIS!!!!

Oooooh, I'm so jealous, that sounds simply scrumptious!

What if Ann Coulter :scared: was a DIS member ... could she come too?

I'd like to play hang man with her.;)

Several years ago, I was reading one of Al Franken's books and was sorta surprised by his extreme feelings about this wench. In retrospect, gotta say the man was probably too restrained in his judgment.

p.s. ...wish I were close enough to make it to the meet-up. Sounds like it's gonna be tons of fun!

HECK yeah! You have no idea just how much fun I'd have playing with her.

Mr. R
I've seen you in action many time on the DIS with some of these :headache:.
You really are like a cat :cat: with a fundamentalist mouse.
:worship: :worship: :worship:

It would be fun playing with her. Especially with you guys. However, at some point I think I would just lean over and hit her and that wouldn't be good. But I wouldn't be able to help it. And I am a VERY laid back person, so that would just be wrong.....as good as it would feel.

***These are not the opinions of the DIS board in general and in no way do I condone violence....except maybe for her.....okay, okay....violence is bad***

Whew - that is a tough place to get into on a Saturday! The Garage is pretty popular (just an observation!)

Really? I've been there so many times on different days of the week and have found that if you go early enough, i.e. 7pm or so, it's not a problem. BUT it's been a while that I've been there on a Saturday at that time. Any other suggestions?

None - I also haven't been there in years...I like the place, just when I tried to get in it was much later than you are suggesting and it was packed.

Gotcha. I thought that might be what you experienced. I'm no longer the "let's go out at 11pm" crowd by any stretch.

So let's keep it to the Garage.

I just read the menus (food and drinks) for The Garage......I should have worn a bib. Hey Padalyn....Who's turn to be DD? Never mind, I'll suffer on the bus for a night. Anyone know the best subway route from PA (port authority not the State.)? I'm subway illiterate...how they heck did I manage to work all over NY is beyond me.
