Hey, more holiday dining surcharges!!!!!!!!!

The DDP folks are also hit, just not as hard.

If the meal price is $4 higher, the tip is higher too.

Very disappointing how they are exploiting this high season, the entire month of June.:sad2:

I could see ON the holiday , but the weeks before and after is just being greedy, IMHO

The word greed just about sums it all up!!!!

Remember: it is Disney's job to extract as much money from the parks and resorts as possible. It is our job to get the best possible value from the money we give them.

This is necessarily an adversarial relationship. ;)

Boy it really seems like they just want everyone on the dining plan. I am sure we'll get hit with it for July 4th too.

I don't understand the math on this (I'm not trying to start a debate, re). The dining plan does cost less, even if you don't use all of your meals. Right now, I have 12 out of 21 possible meals planned (doing the DxDP), no snacks planned, etc... and I'm ahead by at least 8 dollars. I also included the tax, sure it doesn't pay for tips anymore, but my last DDP trip was 20 years ago using the Gold Key deal at the Disney Inn, I was 11, I don't remember it! :lmao: Anyway, if Disney was raising their dining rates during holidays because they were losing money (which I doubt), they would lose more money if everyone was on the DDP.

Would someone please tell me what the exact price increase is for July 4th. I need the adult and children's prices. We have LTT planned, is this included?
Thanks

Does anyone know of a list of when the holiday dining surcharges start and end? I am interested in December. Thanks!! :santa:

Current known holiday pricing periods for 2009 are April 5-18 (Easter is April 12) and May 24 - July 11. Cannot find any listed dates for December 2009. The 2008 dates were December 16- January 3, most likely they will be similar for 2009 (mid-December through the first Saturday in January).

By being on the Dining plan you will eat all your meals on Disney Property. Something that we don't always do- We are a party of 6 - 4 kids, 2 of whom fall under adult prices (11 and 14) the 11 year old would never eat that much food. The Dining plan would be over the top expensive for us. 4 adults and 2 kids. So while if dh and I were going alone we would be all over the dining plan. For our family it doesn't make sense. Disney is raising the rates to GET US to do the dining plan. It's easier for them if more people have prepaid for their meals. imho.

We will continue to avoid the buffets. I won't pay more for something just because I am there in the summer. (Christmas, New Years I get having a surcharge but All of June? And half of July?) that's my problem with it.
