Well Disney is implementing more holiday dining surcharges from March 16-30!!
Whopee!!! Just another way to nickel and dime people.

If I was going during a holiday surcharge timeframe, I would use the DDP so I would avoid the penalty or else skip those restaurants. Just my opinion.

Is there a list of what restaurants impose a surcharge and how much the surcharge will be?

From All Ears Holiday Dining Surcharges that were in effect for the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday seasons will also be in effect from March 16-30, 2008. Prices will be higher at the following restaurants: Boma Breakfast and Dinner, Cape May Breakfast and Dinner Buffet, Chef Mickey's Breakfast and Dinner, Trails End Buffet, 1900 Park Fare Breakfast and Dinner, 'Ohana Breakfast and Dinner, Captain's Grille Breakfast Buffet, Tusker House, Garden Grill, Princess Storybook Dining, Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern Character Dinner, Cinderella's Royal Table, and Play 'n' Dine at Hollywood and Vine.

You know, if they are going to raise prices, just do it already.

They've already done it for the last half of December and Thanksgiving, Memorial Day to 4th of July, now the 2 weeks surrounding Easter...

They've already got what, 1/3 of the year under this "Holiday" pricing...just make it an increase across the board and don't pick and choose where you are going to impose charges. Make it uniform so I can gripe once and be done with it. The more times they pull this crap, the more people get mad about it.

I'm sure some MBA is preening that his idea of "Holiday" pricing is being used. Disgusting... :headache:

The "holiday" surcharges are being put in effect on all the peak attendance times. It was announced prior to them being instituted at Christmas and New Years that they would also be used around Easter time.

Easter is March 23, that is why you have that span of dates. Next year Easter is April 12, so I would look for the surcharges in the first two weeks of April, unless they want to catch more spring breakers by extending into March.

In 2008, there will also be "holiday" surcharges on buffets and all-you-can-eat meals between May 25 and July 5 (encompassing Memorial Day, the entire month of June, and the 4th of July).

I'm sure that Disney will eventually be able to find a holiday period during every single month of the year. If not, maybe they'll make up their own new holdiays.:sad2: :sad2:

another reason i'm glad we got the DDP we are eating at crystal palace and LLT durring that time frame.

Boy it really seems like they just want everyone on the dining plan. I am sure we'll get hit with it for July 4th too.

They end July 5th. If you are not on the dining plan, you can avoid the surcharges by booking buffets after that date.

I too think that they might be trying to get more people on the dining plan during these time periods.

I wouldn't be suprised if they started doing that. I mean, there is some bust time at least once a month.

Jan - New Years
Feb - Valentine's / President's Weekend
March - Spring Breaks / Easter / St. Patricks Day
April - Easter (If Not in March)
May - Memorial Day Weekend
June - Summer Vacation
July - Still Summer Vacation + Independance Day
August - Summer Vacation
Sep - Labor Day
Oct - Columbus Day Weekend
Nov - Thanksgiving
Dec - Christmas & other Holidays

Are we sure that the Dining Plan covers these surcharges? I certainly hope so, because we will be there on Thanksgiving Day and we have the regular Dining plan. Anyone know?

I think it does. Theres no way I would get the dining plan then and have to cough up another 4 bucks or so per person. This is crazzzzzzzzzzy!!!! Has anyone ever heard of any other resturant anywhere in this country doing this at a "holiday" time???:sad2: :sad2:
