Hey Mom, Do I get to be the line leader again? A PTR…(My TR has started! - 6/1)

hey! Megan
great pictures looks like ya'll had a blast!
:thumbsup2 great job on the couch to 5K!!
that is a great idea on the disney box...I need to start picking up things again this year here and there for where ever and when ever we go. Hang in there with your anxieties over Cooper, for the little pain he has he will not be sick all the time afterwards (if he is anything like Gwendolyn was; she even stopped talking through her nose).

Randy I can't wait to hear what you guys think of the new coaster; it was still not open when we went last year, it did look incredible! Do you guys stay on grounds when you go? we are weighing the options for our next go round; we rented a townhouse last year.

:wave2: Connie

Oh yeah we are staying onsite. It is a good bit more expensive, but the look on Zach's face (7yo) when we get to "cut the line" is PRICELESS!!! Besides we really like RPH.. and this year we are going to try the club level. We are beyond excited!!!

Sorry you haven't gotten your fix in a while Randy. I've been busy with those pesky grades I need to post for the end of the grading period. I'll get something posted this weekend. I haven't had any time at al to pop on here.

Oh yeah.. you are a real teacher... LOL

Countdownt to Universal Orlando- Only 8 days left!!!!

Ok well I'm sure I'll see you Sunday if not before!!!!

GEAUX SAINTS!!!!!

So, I am sitting in the recliner in my living room with the back door open listening to this year's first Mardi Gras parade passing by, and I satarted thinking about the trip. I decided to come on here and give another update on the trip. This time I decided to give you all our plans for our day in Animal Kingdom.

We plan to hit Animal Kingdom on our last day of the trip. It is our absolute favorite park. It is the park from our last trip where we experienced the most magical day and inspired the title of this PTR.

First, we do have an 8:05 AM ADR at Tusker House. Bryan likes only a couple of character breakfasts enough to revisit them. This is one of them.

We always head over to the Safari first and get it over with. We have had such great luck with animals being up and about and even coming up to or walking with the truck early in the morning.

The second thing we always do at AK is to visit the first showing of FOTLK. It barely has a crowd, and we always have had a choice of seat.

Even though it is still before lunch, we stop on the benches near the bridge to exit Camp Minnie-Mickey to each have a Mickey Ice Cream bar. Can't go against tradition people.

After this, we'll likely head over to Asia to get Fastpasses for Kali I am thinking. We'll all be able to ride that, and not everyone is keen on riding EE.

The boys like to explore the Jungle Trek and Pangani Forest Trail, so we'll be sure to hit those at one point.

Our extra travelers have never seen Finding Nemo: The Musical, so we might stop in here as well.

Sam doesn't care too much for ITTBAB, so we'll likely skip that one as well as Dinosaur. He'd probably pee his pants on that one.

As far as lunch is concerned, we'll probably hit Flame Tree, however I have a feeling Bryan might try to pull a late lunch at Earl of Sandwich.

We love AK for the fact that it seems so laid back to us. It is meant for you to just take random paths and see what you can find.

Later that evening, we will have our last supper. Every trip to WDW since Samuel took his first trip, we have eaten at Chef Mickey's on our last night. It's a way for the kids to say good bye to Mickey and his friends until the next trip. They make sure to tell every one of them that they are leaving in the morning and when they should expect our return. The characters have always gone along with them. We also have the boys take a picture in the steel ears outside every time. It's our way of chronnicling the boys' growth for every trip.

I hope our day ends up being as relaxing and magical as it always is at AK. We look forward to it every year.

Your AK plans sound great! I love the AK too...I'm so excited to do the Backstage Safari Tour in April.

Thanks for all the great ideas for MK. If you get a chance come over to my PTR for a ?

Nice update...

Here is where our family opinions differ just a bit..AK is not one of our fav parks in Disney. Although we do like it, and enjoy it, it does not hold that much of a special place with us.. If I had to pick one that was really special for us.. I would have to say Hollywood Studios (just my opinion). We really like TSM, Chase loves TOT and we all enjoy RNR.. But I do understand the "laid back" atmosphere of AK, and I do think it does have it's own charm. We usually do this one (AK) in half a day.. we do Everest - Hoping I can get Bryan back on this Summer again.. along with Frog- Dinosaur has become one of Chase's favs.. Z not so much LOL As far as the rest.. I enjoy FOTLK, and Alisa really likes Nemo.. but what I hope to get pictures and video of this coming May is the boys kickin' it in the boneyard... does Sammy like that play area? You did not mention it??? Well Zach could stay there all day if he was given the chance.. the slides, the climbing net, and the burial plot he "digs" them all... Not a trip goes by that we don't end up at the boneyard and he and I play catch inside of it..

As far as the animal watching..we can take it or leave it.. Zach really likes the safari, but we don't have to do it every time.

Looking forward to hanging with you guys at the Tivet's later today for the big game.. I hope I'm allowed to watch all of it... Geaux Saints!!!

One more week of school.. then it's off the Universal!!!

I really love the traditions that you guys have with the Mickey ice cream bar, Chef Mickey's, and the picture! I'm excited to read about it when the time comes!

Great update Megan! AK is a favorite for us also. We love animals in this family. Lindsey claims she is going to be a veterinarian one day. I say Go for it girl! I have to echo Randy on the boneyard, my kids love it too. We have very similar tradition to yours on chronicalling their growth but we take pics by Buzz Lightyear in DTD. We took a pic of Lindsey in 2003 on her first trip and it's just become a tradition. It is a great way to make yourself sad at how big they are getting too. :rotfl2:

We've had great luck taking one of the first safari's too. Great tip!

I know yall don't rank AK as highly as we do. It just fits us so well. DHS is our least favorite.

As far as the boneyard goes, Sam has never done it. Bryan has always thought it was a sandy bottom, so he would never give Sam the opportunity to try it. I hate sand play areas. It gets everywhere. Now knowing that it is gravel, we'll probably let the kids play there while we switch out to do Everest.

Yeah, we'll see you later this afternoon. You know the drill though. ANytime it's a close game, you get sent out the room and the Saints win. I guarantee you that Lacie will kick you out the room if it gets close like that again.

It's not Universal, but four more work days till Cooper's surgery.

It's funny. The boys know the traditions too. As we walk to FOTLK, Sam points out the bench we need to go to after the show to eat our Mickey bars. He also asks everyday where we are planning to eat that day. When I told him Chef Mickkey's on this last trip, he started crying because he knew he had to tell everyone good bye.

We love the animals as well. As I have said before, it's easy to wake the boys up in the morning while we are at WDW. We just ask who wants to go eat breakfast outside on the balcony. They jump out of the bed and go out to see which animals are out there at the moment.

The pictures do make me sad. They are getting so big. I remember being nervous about putting Cooper in that steel ear for his first trip and being nervous about him possibly falling out. He was only a year old at the time.

So, big day today. Saints play in the Super Bowl. It is going to be a very long day!

Big week here as well. I need to make an appointment for Cooper to get clearance from his dr for the surgery. He has his pre-op appointment on Wednesady. Surgery is Friday sometime. We'll find out the time later this week. I am hoping we'll find out on Wednesday.

Sammy will LOVE the boneyard!!! Perhaps we can try to plan for he and Z to hit it together in May???

I hope I get to watch the game :rolleyes1

I don't get it.. Bryan is gonna be CHEERING FOR THE COLTS, AND HE GETS TO WATCH THE GAME??? I guess I'll just have to pull for the Colts today.. maybe then I'll be able to watch it?????

It happened.. it happened!!!!

Life is soooooo goooooood!!!!!

Saints are WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!!!! WOW!!!!!! Can you believe it?????

In just 5 days we will begin our Universal Orlando Vacation!!!!
