Hey Mom, Check out my new Spider-Man move! (Last day & Final Thoughts - 1/10)

Thanks for joining in! How old is your youngest? It seems like everyday is Halloween over here. Cooper loves dressing as Spider-Man all the time.

Thanks! Bryan swears that Sam is more cautious than Cooper because you are more protective of the first kid thatn the second.

My youngest is seven and he loves superheros! Although, he's partial to Spider-Man and Batman.:) I'm not sure why he wanted me to pull out all the Halloween costumes this morning. But...he's had lot's of fun pretending to be his favorite hero today!!

That is so funny! He and Sam are the same age. He does that too somoetimes, but it is often triggered by his brother continuously begging him to put his costume on as well. LOL...

As we were planning the trip, Bryan pointed out that he wanted to spend 2 days at the water parks. The problem with that is that he likes to leave bright and early at midnight on check-in day, and he likes to leave after breakfast on check-out day. Having 2 water park days did not give me 4 full park days, so something had to give. We compromised on the idea of leaving at lunchtime on the 21st and leaving in the very early morning on the 22nd to finish the final 2 hours of our drive.

We made reservations to stay in a Holiday Inn in Lake City. This leaves us with exactly 160 miles to travel after breakfast on Saturday morning. The most important point of this reservation is that there was a Cracker Barrel nearby. My SIL, Stacey, made a reservation as well. Everything fell into place for us.

Like most people who are on the DIS, I had been packing all week. The boys and I were ready by Wednesday. Bryan, on the other hand, is a different story. He waits until the last minute to pack. He was driving me crazy! The problem was that I would not be there in the morning to help him pack up the truck. I wanted to make certain EVERYTHING that needed to be packed was ready to go before I went to bed. So, what did I do? I packed him up myself and told him if there was anything that he wanted to come with us and didn't end up in the suitcase that was his problem. This is serious for him. He drives wearing his Croc sliders and has forgotten his tennis shoes before. That was my fault by the way because I didn't remind him he needed shoes for the week.

I went to bed on Thursday night with everything in place. I wake up to go to school in the morning and place the toiletry bag with all the others. We had no students on Friday. This was my records day, so I needed to find plenty of stuff to keep me busy. We had lunch scheduled for 11. The plan was for me to pick up my sister, pick up lunch, go eat at home, and head back to school for 12 to sign out for the day and drive to Lake City.

So, how did that plan turn out?

LOL on Bryan and his shoes...I've heard something very similar to that before. Good start Megan...can't wait to read more and see some pics. :goodvibes

The plan is always good in theory but was it good in practice??

Isn't that the question of the moment! Can I just say that when something goes against my planned timing, I get very anxious and annoyed. That happened a few times during this trip.:rolleyes1

:rotfl: How is it that Mom always gets the blame for what other people "forget'?

Last fall, we went to the beach, and Elizabeth forgot her SWIMSUIT !!! Guess who got the blame for that? ME!?!?!? She said that I didn't remind her to pack it! I was like, "You're going to the beach---Do you really have to be reminded to pack a swimsuit?" :lmao:

I just got married about a year and a half ago, and i'm already seeing this "wife gets blamed for everything i forgot to do" thing.... what is this!! i do not like this! lol!!
