Welcome Michelle! We weren't able to make the meet on the 28th. The only one I had a chance of going to was on the 22nd, and it was just too long of a day for us. I wish I could have met you as well.

Nope, we didn't do HDDR this trip. We'll get to eventually.

Now that I have some readers and I have done some introductions, it's time to explain how this trip came to be.

As a Mother's Day gift two years ago, my DH bought us a DVC membership. He got me points at Kidani Village. We had taken 2 trips using points already and had a vacation planned for February of this year for Mardi Gras. Bryan and I were discussing places we would like to have for our ADRs when Sam threw a wrench into the plan. He asked which water park we would be going to. We had been in February before. Sometime it's warm enough for a swim. Sometimes...not so much. I couldn't guarantee a water park visit to him, so Bryan and I started coming up with alternatives. Neither of us wanted to go for Easter. We've done that and didn't enjoy all the crowds. The next available time was the beginning of the summer. Sam finished school on May 7th, and I was finished on the 21st. We would be in and out of there before Memorial Day, so the crowds would be very manageable for us. I could guarantee water park/swimming weather, and we had friends going at the very same time.

We decided at that point we would cancel our Mardi Gras trip and re-book for May 22-28. We booked at Kidani Village again since the boys talked about it everyday since we left last summer.

When my sister-in-law Stacey found out we had changed our trip to May rather than Mardi Gras, they asked if they could join us. They were going to come with us for the Mardi Gras trip, but her daughters wanted to stay home for Mardi Gras instead. They cancelled with us for Mardi Gras. We went ahead and told them we would love having them with us for our summer trip. They made this decision right around the same time that Disney offered the 40 or 45% for the deluxe villa stays, so she booked a 1BR savanna view at Kidani with us.

So, we're all booked, and it's time to start talking about the trip.

Mardi Gras crowds vary depending on when it falls. This past year was extemely crowded because it was the same week as President's Day and Daytona. Normally it is a wonderful time to visit.

It was a fantastic Mother's Day. I hope to have another one like that in the future since I am itching to add on.
