Let's get moving along, shall we?

Hi there! I'm Meg! 17 years old, Senior in HS, and resident theater geek.

For details/background of this trip, the link to my PTR is in my sig :)

Monday, July 26, 2010

I got up at 3:30 in the morning. Yes, 3:30. Oy! At least we're going to WDW today...

I got dressed and packed last-minute things, such as my hairbrush. We were fully packed and ready for the taxi by 3:50ish. The taxi came a little after 4:00, and we headed out the door into the dark, chilly night. Of course, there was no one on the road at 4:00 in the morning! So we made it to the airport (PVD) around 4:15. In the morning. Oy. Again.

Anyway, we waited in line at the Southwest counter for a little while before someone came out to start checking luggage. In went our three full-sized suitcases and our smaller suitcase stocked with breakfast foods. We trekked to Security and passed through without a hitch. Thankfully, my spinal rod didn't set off the detectors, and we headed off to the gate.

Which was the same gate I left from on an awards trip in 2007.

Which was the same gate that we were at for my class trip to D.C. in 2007 two days later.

Which was the same gate that we left for WDW from in 2008.

Deja vu, much?

We grabbed some breakfast (the typical Dunkin' Donuts, which is a staple for all native Rhode Islanders).

It was now just after 5:00 in the morning.

Oy. Again again.

At least there was a GORGEOUS sunrise! Oh my. It was so very pretty. I wish now that I had gotten pictures of it. Oh, well. Too late for that now!

They boarded the plane around 5:40, and we actually took off around our scheduled time of 6:00!

I read through an issue of People magazine, an issue of Girl's Life magazine, and an issue of Seventeen magazine. Before 7:00. In the morning.

Oyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

What to do...?

I ended up starting my newest book, an excellent read called The Boleyn Wife. Mom and I got into an intense game of War before the Captain announced that we'd be landing in MCO soon!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Sorry for such a short update, but I actually want to drag out this TR ;)

P.S. For all that were wondering about the Potential Boyfriend...all is going well ;)

I mean, we're not dating. Yet. But this week, we became really close.

And in case you were wondering, his name is Patrick :)

Geez, that's early, too early for me, haha
I can't wait to hear all about your trip... and see some AKL pictures, it's such a beautiful resort
Oh, and yay for the Boyfriend possibility (:

Edit: I forgot to sub!

Yay, you're 17. I'm 20 so I love when younger girls like me post TRs on here. Nice start! I woke up at 3:30 AM for our latest Disney trip too, after like 3 minutes of sleep, haha! Weird how all that stuff was the same. I love when that happens ;)

I'll admit, your title caught my attention.

Haha. I'll explain the title later into my Day 1 posts! :rotfl:

Hi! Welcome aboard! I barely slept that night, too. For some reason this summer, it's been Sunday nights that I get insomnia. Two summers ago, it was Thursday nights. Go figure. But I'm glad you're reading!

meg im here! glad you finally started your tr! going up to read the first post! :cool1:

Heyy! Your trip is so soon! Hope this will help the time go by faster ;)

Of course; Sara needs her beauty rest!

AKL is simply gorgeous; so you'll definately see lobby pics and tons of animal pics!

And haha, yes. It's going very interestingly in that department ;)

Meg! You know I'm here, girl!
Now, to go back and read

Woohoo!

I'm definitely in on this on! You have a great writing style - this should be fun :thumbsup2

Animal Kingdom Lodge!

Okay, so first off, this will be a fairly short update. I've yet to upload the pictures from either one of the cameras. I promise the next update will have pictures. Besides, we didn't take any pictures until we got to AK, anyway.

We got off the plane, and made our way to the fake-o monorail. Sorry, MCO, but your tram just does NOT cut it! :snooty:

From there, we went downstairs to the DME terminal, and encountered an empty line for check-in. It was only 9:05 by this time. As my good DIS-pal George would say, "wootness!" .

We jumped into the AKL bus line, and there was NOBODY else there! Thus, we got on the bus first. Things are already going great! We waited about 25 minutes (oyyy) for more bus-goers, and then we were on our way to WDW! The video began playing shortly, and I found myself entranced by Mickey and his pals and their trip to WDW. Which begs the question: why are the villians on the same DME bus with Mickey and his friends? When he even says "okay, gang, we're off!" . Well, then again, this IS WDW. EVERYONE gets along. At all times. Or else.

The bus stopped at POP Century first, which prompted Mom to ask how it was priced in relation to the All-Stars. I told her that they're the same price, as they're both Value resorts. She thought POP was more expensive. It's the same price, isn't it?

The next stop was Carribean Beach. From what I could see, it was rather pretty--and rather large! From then we proceeded on to Coronado Springs. I'd love to stay here someday. It's gorgeous! The architecture reminded me of Mexico.

Finally--FINALLY--we pulled up to AKL. By that time, it was only us and another small family on the bus. My first impression of the AKL was "WHOAAA". So pretty! So big! So COOL!

Of course, our room wasn't ready yet. Of course. Oh, well. We found out that we'd be in the Giraffe Trail, right by the gift shop and not too far from the elevator to the Mara and the pool. Sweet! We checked our carry-on bags at Bell Services, and went off to the bus stop. Next stop: ANIMAL KINGDOM!

Hurray!! You arrived safe and sound - can't wait to see pics of your room & view. Sounds like a perfect location :thumbsup2

Yay for being first ones on the bus!
POP and AllStars are the same prices... (but POP is waaay better than AS :rolleyes1)

Can you believe we didn't take ANY room pics? D'oh! But the location was AMAZING. As you'll soon find out. Haha.

We've stayed at AS Sports (can't abbreviate that, haha) and ASMu. But not at POP. I don't think we're going back to Value after sampling Moderate and Deluxe!

Good update!!! :thumbsup2 Ready for more...

Heyy, you leave tomorrow! Woohoo!

Pop is actually fractionally less because the tax there is like.5% less than at the All stars.

Oh! Oh! I know why! It's because the WDW resort areas are technically in different cities/parts of Orlando! Some are in Kissimmee, some are in Lake Buena Vista, and some are in Orlando. Isn't that crazy? Just a fun fact that I figured out one day.

Hey Meg! I just found this.. I've been stalking your PTR. Oops.

So glad to hear you left on time! And I know what you mean about magazines--I bring a bunch when I gon on airplanes.

And, I'm so so excited to hear the good news about Patrick!!

Coronado Springs is a great resort-- my favorite moderate-- you should stay there sometime!

Can't wait to read about AK Day 1!!!
