Hey! Let's take a picture in front of the castle...all 28 of us!! UPDATES 10/26

I'm joining in!
I'm also a South Floridian. What part are you in? I'm right near Parkland. Does that sound familiar?
Wowzers, 28 people! Talk about a grand gathering!!
Your girls are so cute! I see you're going again in 2 weeks how exciting! Do you have APs?

Loved your last update. Those planning guides you made are great. Can you make me one for my next trip!

It must be so wonderful to live 3 1/2hrs from Disney World. If I lived that close I might have to spend more time at Disney than at home! :rotfl:

Not sure if I've heard of Parkland or not - is that in Broward? Are you 3 hours away from WDW? We are further south by about 30-40 min.

Thanks! Yes, our trip in two weeks is a short weekend trip with Ramon's family - can't wait! :cool1: We do have APs - we used to have seasonals but since Miren started school we find ourselves going on blackout dates now so we upgraded last summer - worth every penny! :thumbsup2

Those guides were a bit time-consuming to put together but worth every second; I think they were a big factor in getting everyone where we wanted to be when we wanted to be there. :)
Yes, it is very nice but ohhh the tempation!! :rotfl2:

Yes it is. Are you in Broward? Yes, we're 3 hours away.
Our season passes just expired in November. We're going back with the 99 4 day ticket in May and then we'll be get seasonal or APs next year.
Where are you staying for your upcoming trip?

Nope, we are in Miami-Dade, that's probably why I don't think I've heard of Parkland  we rarely/never go to Broward...except, of course, when we need to drive through it. ;)

Well, since we are going w/ Ramon's family we are staying off-property in a 3 bdr condo. My MIL likes to stay all together and there will be 12 of us (including Ramon's four aunts who will be visiting from Spain).

Wow! That is quite a group! I did a trip with 16 over Thanksgiving a couple of years ago and that was pretty much the biggest group I ever want to plan for again! Probably didn't help that I was the ONLY planner though!

I can't wait to hear all about your trip! I love your spreadsheet and your planning party!!

Ok, so we unpacked and rested a bit and got ready for dinner. We had an 8:45 ADR at Chef Mickey's for dinner! I was so excited to have gotten this because we had tried to get Chef Mickey's for breakfast for the whole group but they couldn't accomodate us for the date/time we wanted, so I figured it just wouldn't happen on this trip, however Miren had been telling me for awhile that she wanted to eat there. Then it occured to me as I was organizing our plans that we could go just the four of us on our first night since we had just planned on hanging out that night. I went online and that was the only time they had so we took it! :) My cousin who checked-in with us this day was originally not getting there until late in the evening so she had told me not to make them an ADR. Their plans changed and they ended up going earlier so I asked her if they wanted to come with us and try to get seated without an ADR but they just decided to eat at Boatwrights (I think).

First to visit was the Chef himself!

Next up was Goofy!

Then, came Minnie Mouse! Just as Ramon was taking Miren's picture with her, our server brought Miren and Nerea birthday cupcakes and was placing Miren's in front of her as Ramon took the picture. He apologized b/c he thought he had gotten in the way but Ramon told him it actually worked out perfectly!

Our next visitor was Donald!

Minnie came by again!

The girls enjoyed their birthday cupcakes!

Finally, Pluto found his way over to us!

Some friends came by again!

And I was thrilled to see Minnie yet again!

By this time it was close to 10pm and most of the restaurant was empty. We walked around the Contemporary and saw some of the Holiday decorations

It was getting late so we went back to POR - this is one of the ONLY two pictures I took of the POR! Huh??? :confused3 I think what happened is that I took a lot of video but I was shocked when we got home and I went through the pictures and there was only two! I'm gonna have to go through everyone else's pictures and see if they have any. :rolleyes1

Well, we had a big day ahead of us tomorrow! A princess was turning 6 and we had a day at DHS awaiting! Also, the rest of the group was arriving tomorrow. :woohoo: Would everybody arrive in time for the birthday dinner at 'Ohana?

:welcome: Hi Sara! Glad you came over! :goodvibes
Your Thanksgiving TR is the only one I haven't read entirely but I have looked through it. Being the only planner would be rough. The planning party was a lot of fun and I think a must with such a large group. :thumbsup2

What a great first evening! The girls are so cute with the characters. With your late ADR you were able to see the gang a lot.:thumbsup2

Thanks! Yeah, we've had late ADR's a couple of times for breakfasts or dinners and we've found the characters come around a lot more and spend more time. :)

What a great way to start off your trip! Chef Mickey's looks like it was a hit! You got some great pictures! I'm the same about the hotel and pictures - I felt like I took a lot of the Poly, but got home and realized that I was pretty much holding the video most of the time! Ugh.

Looking forward to the birthday tomorrow! We love 'Ohana! :goodvibes

Sara

We've done Chef Mickey's twice. We took Brooklynn to celebrate her first birthday on her first trip and we also were there for Thanksgiving Day in 2008. We have an ADR there for this summer. It will be Bellarie's first visit there and I can't wait to see how she does!

I'm here!! I know that I read for first update before & I thought that I had replied then....I don't know what happened. :confused3 So sorry that I am late.

Ok, so is it totally sad that I wanted to go to your planning party? The picture of all of the maps, etc. made me want to go over to your house. It looks like so much fun! And I love the spreadsheets that you put together. Very organized.

You have the cutest family. My favorite picture is the one w/ your daughter kissing Minnie. How sweet. I hope the rest of your trip goes as smoothly as the first night did.

The girls look they are having a blast with all the characters at Chef Mickey's. What a nice way to start your trip.

Thanks! Ugh is right! Which reminds me...I need to ask my cousins for their pictures. ;)
'Ohana is my favorite dinner! We were there for my birthday too last year in May and that's where we ate...I loved it so much I just had to book it for Miren's too! :rolleyes1

I just last week made an ADR there for breakfast for this summer! Bella will be all smiles, I'm sure - and she has Brooklynn to show her the ropes! It looks like we might be meeting on our summer trips as they overlap by two days and MeMom suggested we do a quick meet at some point on July 1st - hope it works out for us! :goodvibes
