HI,
I'll definetly be joinig the marg. and wine tasting! I think I need one now! my principal just called to tell me that our brand new school had a fire last night and my room was under the rooms burned and all my boxes have water damage! I need to go next week and do inventory! I can't even begin to imagine what I lost! Hopefully it won't be too bad. Wendy : :teacher:

Fire! That's awful! I hope you are able to salvage your things with little loss.

Hi
Thanks for the well wishes. It was an electical fire in the ceiling heating system. I won't know until next week about my stuff1 I spent the morning trying to recreate my room in my mind to make lists!

Thankfully I have this cruise to look forward too!

Has anyone done the Fantasmic show in DL? Trying to get info, since we'll be there for 2 days

Thanks
Wendy

Wendy I asked about the Fantasmic show in general on the DL board. I wondered if we could "skip" it having seen the show at WDW several times. The overwhelming response was it is better than WDW and a "don't miss"! So, I guess we need to add that to the list!

Maybe look at this link. They have some info there.

I am getting the biggest chuckle out of DH. He has been so stressed with work and all that he is just all of a sudden getting excited for this cruise. Like this morning, he was practicing his best "John Travolta" for '80s night (our favorite time last trip) which brought a laugh to the breakfast table. :rotfl: Now tonight, I mention that I am going with some of you on the wine and margarita tastings and he says "hey, don't these girls have beer drinking husbands???" Now he is looking at the list I printed of all of our names, occupations, etc!! I don't know what got him going, but he is really pumped now!! :flower:

So, just for those who have joined us lately. Meet at Diversions at 10:00. We haven't mentioned "bags" lately, but this is STRICTLY OPTIONAL: Bring a small bag (one per family) that contains items that represent your area of the world. We have all mentioned food :rotfl: but it can be anything. Keep the value at $10 or less. We'll somehow exchange these with each other and take home something new! :smooth:

Wow, has it been a busy few weeks. We too just celebrated a wedding anniversary. Only our ninth, but it is a start on 50. Actually, this September marks our 16th year together. Had to get through Graduate School before we did the big dance.

Shawn has been extremely busy at work. I think he has had one day of in the last three weeks. His next day off isn't until the 29th. He is helping prepare for their big Anniversary Sale. He informed me yesterday that his team has unloaded and processed 1,437,526 garments in the last 20 days. That seems like a lot!! They had their Anniversary Fashion Show on this past Friday. Jenna and Kayla were the top models (at least in our eyes)! For their age, they did a fantastic job. Jenna held Kayla's hand as they walked down the runway. At the end, Jenna really hammed it up with waves to the crowd (500 in attendance), twirled, and then bowed. This brought a standing ovation. Mainly started by all of Shawn's friends. It is amazing how much work goes into these events. They have to set staging, huge video monitors, sound, lighting, and of course chairs. They do it up top notch. No wonder their goal for the first day is 2 million dollars. This amount is for his single store! Can you imagine . . . . that is so much money in less than 13 hours.

We also had a major fire here. Has lasted almost two weeks. Smoke has filled the valley. Climate has continued to be pretty warm. Today we topped out at 115 degrees. Tomorrow is reported to rise to 116 degrees. No doubt about it, it is hot. We are actually looking forward to 100 degrees in Mexico - though it might be a little more humid than it is here.

We aren't hitting DL before the cruise. Too crowded this time of the year. We are going to go on September 10th with my sister's work. The crowds should have dwindled by then. Right after that we are headed off to Eugene, Oregon to watch our beloved Ducks crush the hated Trojans of USC. Trust us, this is the Ducks year!!

We are all really excited. Only a few weeks to go.

Jenny-my DH drinks beer...although he doesn't love beer like how I love a good marg...just thinking about it makes my mouth water....yummy!

My DH has been super stressed with his work also so he's relishing the thought of this cruise. He really can't wait at this point.

My friend's (who aready got her docs) TA just got back from the July 2 - 9 cruise. He said if you weren't doing excursions El Cid in Maz and The Office in Cabo were the best places to go and hang out. (He liked The Office and Cabo the best.) He said avoid snorkeling/swimming in Maz because the water was muddy and choppy. Overall he said it was awesome. His cruise had 900 kids. He also noted that people in the dining rooms were VERY casual, even on formal and semi formal nights. He had been on the Wonder a few years ago and he said he liked the food better this time on the Magic. :flower:

I was really looking forward to snorkeling somewhere. It looks like the choices are getting slim, but I do have good news and it's not about car insurance.... I got my docs today! :cool1:  Whoo hoo..
I was a little surprised by all the references and instructions for PC. I guess it costs a lot to reprint everything for the West coast cruise. I especially like the offer to have a Tux rental delivered to my stateroom from.....Miami, FL. :badpc: Maybe I should take them up on it, then I wouldn't need to pack my garment bag. :earsboy:

Hi Leslie,

DH refers to July 15th as "Black Friday". He dreads how much damage I'll do at the Sale. He fails to realize that I'm actually saving him $. I think the one-two blow of the 1/2 Yearly Sale-Anniversary Sale is more than he can take. His new mantra is "Think Coronado" to remind me that we have a major house purchase/lifestyle adjustment looming. GF just left for Seattle yesterday. I told her that she would have to shop the Sale at the "Mother Ship" this Friday. I took the kids in yesterday to get the shoe sizes checked. I would never bring them with me on sale day. I bought them each a pair of Crocs while we were there. They will be great for the cruise!

:Lynn - We are booked on the tour for Frank's with you guys, yeah, this should be fun.

David - Frank says he has room for 4 more on that tour, if you and your family would like to join us, we will have a blast!

Jenny - My husband is definitely a beer drinker. As a matter of fact, one of his Christmas presents last year was from the Beer of the Month Club. Every other month for 1 yr, he gets a 12 pack of different beers from all over the place, he loves it. But he will always go for a good margarita or glass or wine too. We love to go wine tasting in upstate NY, great wines and beautiful countryside!

Yes, as we get closer to this trip, we are all getting so excited. DH is the one making all the plans, he is on this board (lurking mostly) more than I am. We get calls from DD, Alex, several times a day while she is in DW, it is killing us. This is the first time she has been without us, I think she misses us. She calls from the Haunted Mansion, Rock N Roller Coaster, etc., etc. They haven't been on Tower of Terror because they closed it down after what happened, they are hoping to do that at the end of the week. Funny story about TOT though, my in-laws were in Disney a few years ago, and my FIL took my MIL on the Tower. He called it the "California Hotel". They are both in their 70s. We wanted to kill him when we found out what he did. I think she was terrified for days (she still looked scared when we picked them up at the airport). MY FIL thought it was hysterical, he said he didn't know. Yeah, right.

There was a thread a while ago which talked about how disappointed everyone was that DCL couldn't have changed the literature for this cruise. After all, it's not one sailing, it's 12!! Think about it...average of 2500 people sailing over 12 weeks is 30,000 people. These cruises were already priced higher tha FL cruises so in my opinion, the least they could have done was change the marketing material. Oh well.

By the way David, my DH is wearing a tux (since he has a very nice one that's fairly new).

OK, AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO HASN'T GOTTEN DOCS?!?!?!!? :sad2: Liz-did you get your docs yet? (Liz and I have the same travel agent.) Very frustrating. Well, I wait and wait as time ticks by :hourglass

Debi & Lynn – I just sent Frank an email. Is this the City & Beach tour or the City & shopping tour? Are you planning to do anything ashore before the 1:15pm tour?

Lisa – Hang in there… :rolleyes1

ALL – Can anyone confirm that APL is the rotation that disembarks last?

They're coming Lisa............................... :grouphug:

Very, very smart move by have the little ones prefit for their shoes. My mom and sister (with the girl's cousins) are flying in from L.A. for the big day. Hopefully our nanny can take care of all of them for the day!

Stupid question - can't remember from our last cruise. Do we find out our dinning rotation when we receive our KTTW or at doc time? We received our docs a few days ago and I can't find the rotation listed. I am assuming we find out when we check-in, just can't remember.

No, you are not. At least as far as I know.

I am posting from Orlando! Funny thing, sitting here just miles from Disney World and not going :). I am saving that for next summer, as I am supposed to take my nieces then (either there or Hawaii).

As you probably know, the shuttle launch was a no go; I sat for 4 1/2 hours in the heat and HUMIDITY - ugh - before it was scrubbed. Oh well.

I'm pretty sure that the dining rotation is given at check-in or in your stateroom in that envelope when you arrive in your room.

Funny you mention the Space Shuttle. I spoke with my father tonight in preparing for my mother to arrive. He casually mentions he will be receiving his astronaut wings in September. Apparently his old aquaintance Neil Armstrong will be at the ceremony. My father is a retired NASA test pilot. I couldn't be any more proud. Growing up in the NASA family and my father working at Aames/Dryden at Edwards AFB, I have been to countless Shuttle landings. It really is an amazing sight.

Hi,
If you are in animators last they disembark last, so APL would be the last. There is a copy of the navigators that explain the process on Deb willis site. You get your dining rotation on you key card when you check in as well as tickets in your packet upon check in.
Does anyone know about the light show in Animators, i don't want ot miss it. i thought it was the first night you dine, but someone mentioned that it's not on formal night. Is this true?
We need to book our Palo dinner on board and don't want ot miss the show
thanks
Wendy :flower:

Leslie - That is so cool about your dad. :cool1: You should be proud of him! It must be amazing, yet scary to be involved with that.

David - The tour with Frank's is not actually a DCL excursion, its something we are doing on our own. It is $22 p/p and he is supposed to be able to take us just about anywhere we want to go. We would just have to figure out between the group what we really want to see. I know my DH would like to see a cigar factory and perhaps a tequila factory. Hopefully Lynn & Keith will be up for that too. I am easy and am just along for the ride. Also, we are doing Randi's Happy Horses in the morning (as well as Lynn and Keith). Randi and Frank know each other and have the whole thing worked out with times.

For those of with you with older children, is anyone getting the unlimited internet access on board. We were thinking of doing it, but don't want the kids to wind up spending all of their time online. LMK what you think.
