Personally I am counting the days to pitchers and catchers reporting to spring training. (that's when they start to practice in Florida, Lucy!:rolleyes1 )
I hate snow, cold, etc. Give me that Florida sunshine any day....

I'm baaaaaaaaccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkk, still in Miami/FL with the DDs....Jess is 1 and 1 so we're not making the playoffs in the top division (lost to last year's top team) however, moving and shaking and trying to keep the team to gether for another year to keep us running around for one more year....... sun was out today about 75 degrees......not bad!! :thumbsup2 I'm on another computer and my smilies still work (if you click on the happy face in the toolbar.)

So.........Jennster is getting all the family secrets......

The "rents" are planning the winter escape to Florida......

luster, is bonding with the kids......

Ken is running............

Debster is moving the DD back home.........

WHEN ARE WE PLANNING OUR NEXT DISREUNION??????????????:cool1:

:woohoo: OMG :woohoo: I did it!

Thanks joannsie.....MAN, I need you even when you are in Florida:hug:

it is 11:34 right now and i'm cleaning up after the party - BIG time party - very successful - tons of GREAT food....Bob and I both made the food and we did a darn good job, I must say:love: :dance3: :yay:

Hey, Jennster, at one point I was holding a glass of wine in one hand, and a wine cooler in the other hand....needless to say, that was IT for me for the night:lmao: :cool1: :rotfl2:

Well, it is back to the dishes...i may be up all night, but poor Bob must be AT work by 6 AM tomorrow.....:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Hi BILL:cheer2:

I will look at dates and talk to Mark, but if you guys want to do Chicago, summer is the ONLY time I would suggest (outside early fall).

I "mentioned" January/NYC the other day, but not looking too good.

It appears that our summer vacation will be to the east coast though. One of Mark's childhood friends told us last night that his company has seats in Yankee Stadium AND Fenway Park! I think we will do the city, Cooperstown, Boston, etc. Maybe we can work in a visit or two??? Have to see... There's so much to do and our kids have never been east. Mark has been to Philly and NYC, but limited (single guy with buddies=beer and baseball!!):lmao:

So Lucy, up at 11:30 with two drinks in hand. Girl, I am raising you right!!:rotfl2:

Bill ~ How far are you from the city?? My SIL is in NJ too, so that might be an option. I would love for Marshall to get a fishing experience in.

I'll speak for the Rents......THEY'D LOVE TO HAVE YOU!!!!!!!! WWWWWhhHHHeeeenNNNNN????????????? They are in South Jersey just above Atlantic City, it is a really nice island, Brigantine!!!! Maybe we could all schedule some ball games, etc........popcorn::

Hey, Loosey, slow down, baby!!!!!!!:thumbsup2

Closing in on another New Year!! Jess's tournament is over and we are back in Miami for a few more days with Tara........weather has been really good (Ken has been running alot!)

Hope all is well with our other DIS friends..........see you all in the New year!!;)

We are about 65 miles outside Phila.. using the Atlantic City Expressway takes about 1 1/2 hours to reach us....:rolleyes1 no traffiic lites till you hit Brigantine, then there is only 3 on the island....:confused3 of course ,having driven through ohio/Ind in the past....you folks could make it in 45 min I'd suspect..:rotfl:
come on down...:cool1: flounder season starts around mid March ...but it generally doesn't warm up till mid June, because the ocean temp keeps the air cool::sad1: fishing gets better in June also..:yay:
From NYC we're more like 2 hours,:) depending on the time of day:confused3 ,how lost one gets,etc...it's pretty much a clean shot down the Garden State expressway....I assume your driving..:yay: :rolleyes1 :confused3 ...I would prefer driving ...air ports are such a pain in the :scared1:
you didn't mention where the SIL lived..you could consider stopping at JoAnski's...she is North of the city, right above the Pa turnpike...you can't beat the prices..!!!:dance3: :rolleyes1 ....she has a pretty good Bar:lmao: , it helps to get the grime and dirt off you after that long drive:yay: :rotfl:

let's begin with THIS winter:
Joanster: count me out for the marathon - heading to the doctor real soon for my carpel tunnel and bad knees - just ONE person mentions OLD AGE, and I'll threaten to leave this thread:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Jennster: PLEASE let us know when you are coming east - we want to join you, but still plan our Disneyworld vacation, which we are NOW planning the end of July::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo pluto: :donald: :tinker: :goofy: , while the 'group' is in the Med. I really would like to meet up in Brigantine...I've already searched the hotels......set a date, please. (we may even join you for a baseballe game:cheer2: :scared1: )....really would like to see you in Chicago and Cinncy this summer too.

Debster: is your house rocking with all that company? :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: You are such a GREAT hostess, I know they'll never leave:rotfl2: :rotfl: :scared1: PLEASE remember the date for NY.

Speaking of NY: Joanster: Bob wants me to ask you - we are getting up to NY really early Saturday morning, to get in a line for a show in the afternoon also. I KNOW for a fact Tyler MUST see Rent, as Bob will go with him.....
hopefully there are half price tickets...I plan on seeing another show....whatever they have a half price, Jersey Boys or Mary Poppins, if possible. When are you getting to NY that day?:woohoo:  :

When is Lynnster coming back? I truly miss her, as do I miss Kathster......

Please, guys, don't drop our friendship:sad1: :sad2: because we are NOT doing the Med.....
it just wasn't in the cards ($$$$) - especially since we priced out the tours, flights, etc. We are anxiously awaiting the announcement for 2008, in hopes we can go back to the west coast.:genie: :genie:
Bobbyster is working today, tomorrow and New Year's Day - anyone wanna keep me company on the thread?:grouphug:

Sheesh, Lucster, I can't keep up w/ all the ????sssss.............:rotfl2:

Jess has to take the SAT saturday morning and she has ODP practice in Easton on Sunday morning NYC w/e........so I'm thinking two cars so that I can go earlier and SEE A SHOW WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! I heard MP is really tough, JB would be fun...........Tracy will probably be with us too!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

Yes, all are welcome Brigantine, NJ, between Mom & Pop and us everyone would fit, they have spare bedrooms and so do we (and pull out couches), WHO'S IN???;)

We are leaving for the MED CRUISE at the end of July and other than that any time is good for us..........

Let's keep mulling the Chicago trip, it sounds like it could be a nice couples trip, maybe in early summer???:tinker:

We are still here in Miami, saw some SIGHTS today, the Ocean Drive is closed to traffic and I believe the sights will get more interesting as the night goes on, unfortunately we are leaving early tomorrow and will enjoy NYE at home.........:cloud9:

What's everyone else doing????:cool1:

to wish all our DISers a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR - each and every one of you  :cool1: :dance3: :yay: :grouphug:

The highlight of my year WAS this past summer, being with all of you again - honestly - it was the BEST:sad1:  :flower3:

The end of this year hasn't been the best for our family, with my 'mum', so let's all wish for good health, good times and GREAT friendships for 2007.:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

What is everyone doing this evening? We've NEVER been big on New Year's Eve, especially with Bob's work schedule. He works today from 10-6, then tomorrow (New Year's) from 9-6 again. Tonight we'll go for a quick dinner in town, and that's it. I KNOW I'm NOT gonna make it till midnight tonight.:sad2: :sad2: :scared1:

Thank you, Loocy, I was really disappointed when I saw your second to last post...............

WTG, EAGLES!!!!!!!!!

I am so psyched about the boys!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, Jennster, loved the card and family newletter..........thank you!!!;)

Hope Debster & Lynnster are having a wonderful new year...............LOVE YOU GUYS..........you have blessed our lives and made the world alittle smaller (where is kathy???)

Hopefully in the new year, we will have a reunion in Chicago, see Debster in NYC (in January) and of course, sail w/Lynn & Keith in the Med.............

If not, see each other on the East Coast w/Jen, Deb & Luc for some ball games and fishing..................:woohoo:

I can't stop laughing at that statement:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

We just got back from dinner, at 8:05 PM, and ready to put on the PJ's, both boys home tonight (I am always thankful  when the boys are home on New Year's Eve - seriously - too many drunk people on the roads:sad1: :sad1: :sad1: )...a relaxing night ahead.popcorn::

I agree with Joanster.....this group is so special and we are so thankful for all you special friends:grouphug: ....and LOVE spending time with y'all:grouphug: ......we have SUCH good times when we are together:dance3: ....we must just keep planning our get-togethers....NYC, Chicago, NJ (I'm going to NJ?!!! ), Cinncy....and if anyone wants to join us in Disney, we would LOVE it!

My kids ruined New Year's Eve for me, how about you guys??? We had a really wonderful time in Florida, however, I do love it there! :laundy: Needless to say, you know what I've been doing all day! We really should add SB to our reunion agenda............:hippie: :dance3:

Happy New Year to all!!

We're finally going to WDW next w/e for a quick trip (so Ken can run his first HM) He's skinnier than ever (it's really getting old):headache:

Hang in there Momster (Lucy's Mom)................

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL

LET'S GO JETS!

Yes, we are very psyched about the Jets win yesterday, gaining them a wild card spot in the playoffs. We were at the game, stayed to the end to see Mangini get dumped with Gatorade (love it) and the crowd was crazy. Jenny Sorry about those Bengals. And yes, while the Eagles made the playoffs too, just remember that no one (yes no one) expected the Jets to get anywhere near the playoffs (most experts had them at 4-12, you may recall). And we can beat New England, we have already beaten them once in Foxboro this year. Maybe we have some momentum going into the playoffs. Whatever happens, at least I can gloat for one more week. I am glad the game is Sunday, not Saturday (so I can watch it at home, not miss it at work). And you know where Micco and I will be sitting on Sunday at 1 :happytv: (hopefully it will be happy TV).

Lucy I haven't gotten a chance to speak to the girls about the ticket yet, but I am sure one of them will take it. Just let me know how much it is. I will get back to you by Wednesday the latest. Still not sure what our vacation plans for this year (if any), but where ever we do go, it will probably be the beginning of July, not the end.

My house has been crazy around here with all of Alex's friends from Disney here since Thursday. Lots of cooking (for New Year's Eve), cleaning and :laundy: It is like the UN here, kids from Nebraska, Arkansas, Utah, Kansas, Canada, Puerto Rico. Nice kids, but I am really looking forward to having my house back. Everyone leaves by Wednesday, I go back to work and Briana goes back to school.

Been a mushy, rainy day here today, it seem like New Years day always is.

Again, wishing you all a very happy and healthy New Year.

Debi

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Yes, the Bengals controlled their own destiny and failed. It's sad that they put themselves in that position. We are glad they didn't make the playoffs as we feel they didn't deserve the honor. Cheers to the Eagles and the Jets! :cheer2:

We just arrived home having been gone the past 6 nights. I am glad to be here! Last night was an interesting evening. We sat around the room and watched football. Around 10 p.m. M&M fell asleep with the understanding that we would awake them to see the "ball" drop. Mark and I went downstairs to have a drink and watch the drunks:lmao: in the bar. We told them we would come back up around 11:45 to ring in the New Year with them. At around 11:00 p.m. the fire alarms went off and a voice told everyone to evacuate the hotel. Now, we are on the first floor and our children were on the 22ND FLOOR!!! We took off running. :scared1: I called John's cell and he had the kids woke up and in the stairwell coming down! As they were coming down all John was worried about was that they couldn't find Marshall's shoes! We told him he did the right thing to abandon the shoe thought and get out!! I couldn't have been prouder of him.

It ended up that the 2nd floor kitchen had something that triggered the alarm. After 25 firefighters went up the stairs with hoses and axes in hand, they gave the all clear. It was so funny when some beautiful girl (who had obviously had a few) made two of the firefighters pose for a picture with her before they left. She was going around saying, "Look! It's the firemen who saved my life"!!!:lmao:

We got back up to the room (ALL OF US!) to watch the ball drop. I had a hard time going to sleep after all the excitement!! :confused3

Hope everyone has had a great holiday. I still have until the 8th, so I am excited to just be home for a little while. The hardest thing about this trip is we only had a washing machine up until Friday, so you know what that means???:laundy: :laundy: :laundy::scared1: :scared1:

Jenny that sounds like a scary moment I'm glad you were all ok

I'm back Happy Christmas to you all.
If you ever have the chance to go to Madeira over Christmas and New Year do it
Jenny your kids would love it, the whole Island is all about familiy.
Lucy, Christmas Queen, the lights on this Island rival any at Disney.

On the 23rd Dec the whole Island Mums, Dads, Grandparents, Great Grandparents, Kids and Babies all come to the main town to stroll, see the lights and the cribs and eat special food and dink the local drink Poncha. People are playing instruments and singing and dancing the local dances in the streets. Outside the cathedral some local children made a mime of the christmas story. The market is open all night and everyone heads to the fish market at 11pm to sing Christmas songs. Country people are all selling their wares but it's mainly about meeting with old friends and getting the family together. Most people are a little merry ( that's a British Euphemism for drunk) but there is no trouble and I've never felt safer..there is just about zero crime on the Island.

The 24th was their special mealtime and then mass, and the 25th was a family time.

On New Years Eve 11 cruise ships came into the little harbour well to be more precise 4 were in and the others moored just outside to see the fireworks these were launched from 50 different places from around the harbour, we went out on a wooden sailing ship with around 50 people and watched from the water at midnight all the ships sounded their horns then the 2006 onthe hillside changed to 2007 and all the lights dimmed before we saw the most amazing firework show ever definitely on a par with if not better than the disney shows and it went on for 15minuteson the way back into harbour everyone was waving and shouting happy new year from all the ships and smaller boats. It was really incredible, something to see at least once in your lifetime.

Anyway a very Happy New Year to you all, I know we'll be seeing Joann and Bill plus the families in the summer we would love to see anyone else over this side of the water if you want to visit, at present our plans don't include a visit to the US this year but who knows!!
Love to you all
Lynn and Keith

Lynn and Keith - so happy for you that you had a wonderful holiday:cool1:

SO, I go to work this morning, for the first time in two weeks....and my phone is dead (I'm NOT sad about that) and my computer is so slow - oh, yea, gonna be a good year.....:surfweb: I just hope noone (professors)comes in to work today (classes at my university don't start until Jan. 16)....must catch up on my e-mails and the internet......:surfweb:
