JoAnne ~ Don't be depressed about your weight loss.......you've already lost the equivalent of a small sack of potatoes!!!! It doesn't sound like much until you think of it that way! Keep the faith! :rolleyes:

Maybe you reached a plateau...bet next week will be better! Don't give up!! Think about how great you'll feel on the cruise when everything fits better!!!! You can't give up...what did I hear someone say the other day...nothing tastes as good as thin feels......... keep it up!!! :)

You can do it! A year ago I got really depressed about my weight. With the help and support of friends and DH, I was able to lose 15 pounds. I am by no means thin, but I was satisfied with that. I know it is hard...... You can do it. What I did was, everytime my body told me to eat a bad thing, I went straight to the treadmill... Also, remember sometimes your body is telling you that you are dehydrated. Drink water as much as possible!

Fortunately, things are looking alittle better....Lucy don't quit, I've skipped meetings due to setbacks but usually I am more focused the following week.


WTG Jenny! 15 poounds would be amazing to me right now!! :rotfl:

Something I didn't mention..........it took me 90 DAYS to lose 15 pounds. It has been easier to keep off than other times when I lost a lot quickly. I am the consumate YO-YO!! :yo-yo:

about it, I COULD try harder....probably when we get closer
to the cruise and the weather gets warmer, the weight loss
will go much better. NO, I will not give up, I am a lifetime WW member,
so I know it CAN be done.

Winter is hard to diet....the weather just makes me want to eat and sit around...and I don't even live in a snow state, so I can imagine how much harder it is to get motivated. My DH and I are going to drastically change our eating habits (I refuse to say D I E T HA HA) next week....I'm so not looking forward to it, but I need to drop at least 15 lbs. I won't be thin, but I'll be thinner. I really need to lose about 40 lbs. to get to my pre-baby weight--that baby is now almost 7 years old......... :goodvibes

speaking of my pre-baby weight, my 'baby' is 19 yrs. old, and the real baby in the family is 12 yrs. old - this past year has been my hardest year for losing weight, my age is definitely a factor! (NOPE, I'm still not going to tell 'ya
what that age is - you'll see real soon)! :wave2:
 
Don't despair, a woman's body weight can flucuate by up to 10 pounds in a month so it's no wonder that sometimes the scales make us feel bad.

The water statement is very true, I've stopped dieting and telling myself there are bad foods. Now I eat if I'm hungry, but I have to be hungry so when I want to get chomping I give myself a little quiz, Are you thirsty, are you tired , are you stressed, are you sad are you really hungry. Appropriate action is drinking water, having a rest, getting some exercise, pampering myself or if I'm really hungry eating.
I've lost 15lbs since 10th of January, I've got around 110 to go I'd like to have lost another 40 of that by the summer when I meet you guys. Come on we can do it!!!
 
Well, it sounds like we all have a lot in common, which should make for excellent cruise buddies!!!

I'm so excited to meet you all and cruise with you next summer....let's help each other get there!! :cheer2: :grouphug:
 
Lynn probably has the best advice. I try to ask myself the same questions. When I hit 40 it was amazing how hard weight was to lose!

Now that didn't work yesterday in the car between dropping off DS11 for basketball, p/u DD5 from daycare and taking DS5 to wrestling club. That package of M&Ms I found in the car tasted so good (and I don't usually each chocolate!).

I am fine when I am at work, but when work is over, all "you know what" breaks loose!! :rotfl:

It is so true what Lynn said about water....I have found myself eating when I was really thirsty. And I did read in the paper where they have found that those people who don't get a good nights rest or get REM sleep, typically have weight problems. My problem is I just LOVE food--all kinds a food. I'm the best person to have over for dinner because I enjoy whatever you put before me. But I'm also the WORST person to have on a cruise because food is always available and I'm always willing to sample. The only thing that I do that's good is that I don't finish everything on my plate, especially at a buffet. My plate may look full but I usually only take a bite to get the taste. My worst problem is I have ZERO willpower. Oh well, the challenges we gals face...I never seem to hear men speaking at length about weight like us gals do, such is life. Hang tough girls! ;)

DD5 is home sick. DH stayed home in AM and I am tagging and doing PM. I have been off the board for a while. So much going on! I can't wait until March 13th for our trip to WDW!!! :Pinkbounc

Pitcher and catchers reported to spring training today! That's a positive sign for me..........I love my baseball!!! :smooth:

I am so mad at myself. I got on the scales this morning and I have gained 5 POUNDS! My body can't afford this!! I have been so bad with all the junk food, poor eating habits and no exercise lately!!! I have got to get it off in the next four weeks!!!!! :sad2:

So girls, I am officially "on the wagon" with you!! Help me thorugh this! :guilty:
 
You know, it could be some water gain, and women's bodies in particular do flucatate as stated before. OK, we're officially here to help you....you can do it! The food's not worth the gain!!!!! Hang in there!
 
Hey! I fluctuate every week, you're probably not in as bad of shape as you think you are.....just jump back in and increase your workouts and water. My key to success is to switch up my workouts, drink more water, and write everything down that I am eating. I have been having many setbacks but this has been keeping me heading in the right direction!
