Hey Facebookers....

I hide/ignore those things as well. I tried playing Farmville/Farmtown whatever it's called, once and just didn't see the appeal but I know a lot of people like it. I just don't need to hear all about it when they fertilize/plant/harvest their crops, or when they find a little brown cow or cute little bunny, yadda yadda yadda!

I don't like the pillow fights and stuff sent back and forth either. I've found it you accept it once from a friend, they keep sending them.

I use facebook to keep in touch and post my pictures for family and friends. My profile is private so I don't get strangers as my "friends."
I also do not get the appeal of those things like farmville, or Mafia something. I always delete those requests and always block them from requesting for me to join or help or whatever from that person.

Anytime I get any of those I not only ignore them but block the application. Just by accepting those kinds of gifts you are accepting the T&Cs of the application which usually allow for the application provider to take all of your personal information. Many times it also exposes all of your friend's information.

I only use Facebook for the core purpose, socializing.

I only recently noticed that I could block the application. But my reasoning for not doing the applications is exactly the same as yours. Had to tell DH to actually read what he was blindly clicking through to finally get him to STOP doing all the little stuff (not games, but the other things). He was shocked when he read it all! (yet he's the one that works with computers?)

RFTM...or RTFToS in this case.

He'll get it, us geeks (or we geeks, not sure) have out own language. :lmao:

Just one more thing to help people waste time on Facebook, the century's biggest time waster to date.

I found the hide button! I'm so excited. :cool1::cool1::cool1: And then I ignored all those farm gifts and smile stuff. Cleared things right up. :cool1:
