I know I don't post on here as often as I use to but its been crazy. So after being back now and getting the kids back to school. Our trip was okay but not great. I rarely every complain, but DH said if we cant take the trailer we will not go. We stayed at Pop the last three visits and this was our worst stay. The room was terrible, and I don't mean a little dirty. I mean the door would not close so bugs were coming in constantly, our floor was soaking wet when we got there, toilet paper roll was missing. Chair was broken and tv would not, work. I still did not complain only just let them know so that they next guest didn't make a huge stink.

We also had some issues with billing. We thought about adding a night, and was told we would no be charged, well we were charged twice! Finally they took care of it though after being back in PA they also gave me an additional 100.00 credit.

NOW for the big news, so we were over financed in our dodge van, and the POS truck that we bought for 5000 and put 6000 into finally got running but is still having issues. Well today we picked up or brand new 2014 Dodge Ram 1500!!!!!!

DH is so excited that he said if we can try and make it back down in the trailer we will.:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Hoping something will open up the begging of NOV but I doubt it.

How long were you there and did not complain? If you didn't say anything to HK That's your fault. I just don't understand that you did nothing.
:confused3 Sorry

We stayed for eight days. I said something in the third day only to let them know so someone else would not make a huge scene like we saw someone doing that was right next to us over a towel yhat had a hole in it. I don't typically complain becuase I know they have a huge turnover rate and I just tend to roll with things.plus in our five years of going we have never had an issue. I was just saying it on here, becuase it's a bonus for camping. You have your own place. :) I will say that house keeping came down and took care of the toilet paper holder. The door they could do nothing about until we left, as the maintenence man said it would have to be taken care of by a carpenter.

Hey Rland, was wondering how your trip had turned out. It's good to know your safe and sound.

Sorry to here about the issues with the resort, doesn't sound like a total vacation killer but annoying I am sure. We've all had the issues with different resorts, especially those not Disney. I'm with you, jumping up and down and complaining over simple stuff really only makes you look like a donkey. Big things like overcharging, now that might warrant a few more clicks on the volume knob.

Glad to here about the truck and the potential to make it back to the Fort. There really is nothing better than knowing its your bed, stove, floor, ceiling, and awning. You aren't at the mercy of others to get it right, if it's broke, it's typically your own fault. Oh yeah, and no bedbugs, lice, fleas, and all the other things that can potentially be awaiting you when you open the door of "someone else's" room.

Very nice on the truck. Not so nice on the resort issues... or the service recovery... or the billing.

No matter how much we want it, even Disney isn't perfect.

I am not a complainer, but somewhere through the laundry list of problems with the room, you might should have ask if they could move you to a different room. That said not knowing your schedule, the room may have just been little more than a place to sleep at night while at the parks all day so the issues would not have been as noticable.

Thats pretty much why we did not request a move, the other was, I had already unpacked and after being in a car for 15 hours with two kids I just was not in the mood to complain about it. Like i said we just did not want others to come in and complain about it trying to get something out of it, like the women next to us. We have never had a problem with pop and love it, but like i said previous just more perks as to having your own place to go back to at night with a camper! :)

I figured that was the case. I know I stayed at ASM a few years back and I could not tell you if the TV worked because we were at the parks all day, came back to the room, showered and went to bed. Just like when I travel for work, if it is just a place to sleep for a night I overlook a lot. If it is going to be a semi home for me for a week or more after getting off of work then I do draw some limits. Mainly a working TV.

Yeah, and for us all it took was taking out the bottom drawer and grabbing the cable. But for some people who are on "Vacation" and don't want to be bothered by it they will raise holy h e double hockey sticks. The wet spot seemed to be that someone brought a bucket in and spilled it, at least I hope lol. I could not believe when I went up to the desk to ask about an extra night, the woman next to us was just on a rampage. All over a towel that had a hole in it and napkin she found on her table, she wanted a new resort and everything. My husband laughed. And trust me we were not trying to listen he could be heard. :)

We just scored a reservation for the begging of nov and are hoping to go, but I am not sure as many people complain about "Jersey" week.

Actually there are individuals that know Disney is so Customer Service oriented they abuse it. What they were doing was attempting to get a free upgrade to a moderate or deluxe resort.

This...

It's just how some people are, I was raised better.

To be honest about Jersey Week, everyone I've talked to say that Jersey Week really isn't that bad at Disney. I say go for it.

We went during "Jersey Week" and it wasn't bad until we hit Epcot. It was also the last weekend of F&W and a marathon. Future World was fine, but World Showcase was packed!

nice to hear you got a new reliable vehicle ! I broke down once on my way to WDW with my older truck and camper and had to buy a replacement before I could continue my trip. I still have that truck now and it's about time for another replacement lol. I have gone through 2 other campers since then! Now I'm happy to say I just got a new 2015 Prowler and I am totally in love with it...It's hands down the best so far! I actually got my spot at the Fort as soon as I decided what I was getting and will be down Nov. 9-15! Hope to see you there! Sending pixie dust your way in the hopes you snag a spot!:wizard:

Some New Jersey school districts are cracking down on parents taking kids out of school for vacation (our local one has for years and years).

So I think there may be fewer families extending the teacher convention period into a longer vacation.

We went twice decades ago when it wasn't as much of an issue here and we only added a day or two to the time off
