Hey Disney brides (and future disney brides) Let's see your Wedding Dress!

I cant believe that I bought my dress today!!! I only went to TRY ON some dresses. The first one I tried on I fell in love with! Its very different from the one I had in mind..I wanted a Maggie dress...white, thin straps, small train, lots of beading. I wish I could add a photo here of the one Ive bought but I cant find one yet. Its a Ginnis dress, a pale ivory with cranberry beading and strapless with a long train. Im not the slimmest of people but I cant believe how slimming this dress is! As soon as I get a photo I'll add it.
Just wanted to share my excitement at finding MY dress!! :flower:

I forgot to add: Codie, I tried on that dress! I loved it in pictures but as I am not at all endowed on top, it looked HORRIBLE! I still think it's gorgeous though!!

We seem to have the same physique and I thought the same way you did until I went shopping for my dress...and then I picked one of each and couldn't decide so I had my DH2B pick which one he liked better. I was VERY surprised when he picked the giant poofy dress over the more slinky revealing style. I loved both so I was glad that he got to pick which he liked better:) I don't feel lost at all...just a bit dramatic!

I was looking for a dress just like the top one - as we're getting married at sunset pointe I wanted casual and beachy and slinky, I tried the slinky dresses on though and becuase I'm quite slim they looked awful - so I ended up with a puff ball! It's odd that you set your mind on something and get completely the opposite :0)

I hope my DH2B will like it - he's not seeing it until I appear at the bottom of the aisle...

We do plan to renew our vows in an actual FTW. Most likely, it'll be an intimate ceremony, but I think we're shooting for our 5 year anniversary for it, so that would put us in 2007. I do plan to buy another dress for it, just not sure what one! I want a princess-y looking one though. I want those pictures in front of Cinderella's castle...lol...intimate brides can still have those, right? :)

Oh yes, as long as you're doing a FTW the castle doors are open, I'm an intimate bride and we just got our date confirmed for our castle shoot, now I'm sooo glad I picked the princess number :0)

I am so excited!

Here's mine! It's definitely princessy...I'm 5'6" and alot of the princessy dresses at David's were too short for me, so they might work for you...I'm on the lanky side, so I figured they'd put me in more of what you're looking at Tinkerbelle, but they went with it when I said I wanted poufy...and I loved nearly all of the poufy ones, except the ones that were too short because they made me look like the tooth fairy.

While you're there, if you put in 5105 you can see my tiara.

Love all the dresses girls!!

Tall and lanky suits poufy dresses - or so they told me! :0) I love your dress (still am AMAZED at those prices for David's Bridal, you get so much for the money and they look so much more expensive, wish they shipped to the UK) Your tiara is beautiful too, which reminds me mine arrived in the post last week and I've still not opened it!!!

How are you standing it? I think I've opened mine about 20 times now! Everytime I'm at my parents' house I go in the room where my dress is and uncover it and look at it and take out the tiara...hehe

I LOVE your dress--one of my g/f's had a similar gown for her wedding five years ago--she was 5'7" and I thought it looked regal on her...I'm sure it will on you too!

thanks! my mom had wanted to make the dress for my first wedding, but after pricing it all out, for what i wanted, it ended up being cheaper and easier to just buy one. but this wedding was done on an extreme budget and i just couldn't fathom spending very much on a dress, even though i really wanted to! i tried on a bridesmaid dress somewhere that was similar to what i was looking for and then we found a pattern to match. my dress cost us roughly about $50 total! our entire wedding/honeymoon cost us about $2500 and it was perfect for us! :) DH wore a suit he already owned...i made my bouquet...we also made our own unity candle!

i think that when we do our vow renewal, eventually (lol), i want to go and buy a new gown. something frilly!! :)

Ive taken a photo of my dress and it's on my computer...now how do I show you on here? :flower:

Thanks! :flower:

It's by Justin Alexander. The one bad thing about it is it's kind of pricey (About $1500 - $2000). And by the time I'm ready to purchase it, I don't think it will be available anymore (I won't be able to buy my dress until the end of next year). So I'm more than likely just going to have it made. I've already been looking at dresses for a year now, and there have been other dresses I've loved, but none have made my heart skip like this one (Aw, just like my DH2B). :p
